Annual pass changes coming........

We have APs & Tables in Wonderland dining card. Got an email about TIW changes effective 10/4. Price has increased to $150 for AP & DVC, $175 for Florida residents. :worried: We are headed down in December, our APs expire in January. Planned to book a bounceback for next September but definately not renewing AP right away. We have 5 days left on an old non expiring ticket we can use. After 23 years of going 1,2, or 3 times a year all the way from Buffalo NY, we might be done. We love Disney resorts & stay deluxe club level, but these constant double digit cost increases with stagnant parks & benefit take aways may have finally worn us down. So sad.

On $2000.00 with TIW and $175 cost the true discount is 11%.

I am guessing regular park admission price increases aren't going to be far behind these increases. If we were in the market for tickets and knew we were headed down within the next several months- we would hedge our bets and get them today. As with other PP's- we don't need or want Photopass. We do TiW, but this will be the last year for that- break even is too high for the amount we use it unless they take away blackouts and/or increase benefits somewhere.

I just finished e-mailing Disney (which will probably do nothing) and let them know (politely) that I am not a happy annual passholder....

Apparently not enough people chose YES on the Disney AP survey when they asked: Do you think Disney is GREEDY?

I did my part and clicked yes. So no one can blame me for this round of highway robbery.

And before someone says you don't have to go, I bought a 50 year contract to stay on site, so I kind of do. This might be part of the increases too; Disney may have signed enough of us on the dotted line to guarantee that they have a trapped population.

And yes I can sell my contract. But I better do it quickly, because the bottom is about to fall out of these contracts when the resale market is flooded.

Yes. You will need to have the PP photographers scan the upgraded band.

But would that even matter if they are all in your party? Under the "old" system, 1 person bought the MM and then everyone linked to them could have their band scanned.

Then we will do this and not have to pay for memory maker for either 2 trips with the AP. So savings this time but still stupid overall.

not sure if I mentioned this yet but I'm annoyed ..... was going to start looking at park plans for our January trip but now I'm just annoyed and don't feel like doing it....normally that is a fun/ exciting task.... GRRRR

Did they mention that this was a flat rate? Or was it that rate because you were due to expire in April? I just renewed my AP 3 weeks ago and I really enjoy getting pictures....sometimes more than going on the rides so the upgrade would be worth it for me.
They gave me that price based on when mine expired. They said everyone's would be different. We still have 2 more trips planned though so it was worth it for me

They scanned my pass and said that was my price. Acted liked everyone would have different prices. Also when I logged on to look at my photos all my photos from my trip last April were there again. Said it went back to your start date. Was pretty neat. It could also change. Said I was the first person to do it at MK today.

That is what I want to do. We have 4 DVC AP's. If I can upgrade one of them for $20 then for once I think I'll get the better of the mouse!

How do you come up with the $20 increase? I am very confused by all of this. DH and I bought our DVC AP's last week. If we could upgrade one of them so it would include MM that would maybe help. Our AP we have now are considered Platinum correct?

I wonder if there is a cheaper 'upgrade' price for folks who paid for MM in their previous trips under their current AP.....

The fine print on their website also says its 365 days from capture of photo availability so you would have a trip at the end of your AP date the photos would be there for a year (from when they were taken) based on their info. So no worries about losing photo when the AP expires.

We currently have DVC AP's which we paid $529 for. I would up(down)grade one of the passes to a Gold Pass for $549. The blackout dates don't affect me, so I will still get the same use out of it, but also have photopass.

They are not considered platinum. They are considered "Old DVC AP". If you were to renew them next year, you would renew to platinum (or gold if you wanted to). You are not entitled to platinum benefits unless you "upgrade" to it now.

I'm so annoyed. I was busy all week and had planned out today to buy AP's and do our planning for our December trip. And I wake up to this price increase. I don't care about photo pass. If it wasn't for the fact we rented points for Dec, I would seriously think about canceling. And now I'm wondering if I will just quit considering the plans I had for next year and just go with regular tickets for Dec and not buy AP's.

I'm sad about TIW, too. We had it when we were AP holders two years ago and liked it. I had read the rumor it was being discontinued, but I wonder if they decided to just increase the price instead. I don't know if it's worth it to us now.
