Anyone ever run into any problems buying an annual pass at the airport (MCO)? We won't have enough time to order them before we leave but we want to make sure we have them when we get there. TIA :p

If they sell APs at MCO, I'm willing to bet they are vouchers, and will have to be exchanged at a park member services window for the actual pass. Personally, I'd simply avoid this step and get them at a park. If you must show one for proof of an AP discount at check-in, maybe you can drop the luggage with the bellman, go to a park to get the AP, then check-in.

You'd lose the bet. The AP/PAP's which are most definitely sold at all three Disney shops at MCO are actual activated passes, not vouchers. No stops at a Guest Relations window required.

so does this mean you can activate you pass there too?

We'll be staying at the Hyatt right there the night we arrive and that would be great if I can run down and active our APs!!!

Well, that is pretty neat! Can you get the renewals there, too?

I wish I would have known you could get them at MCO. I just purchased them online. Arghhh...

THe MCO shops are NOT Guest Relations. You cannot activate a voucher there or do AP/PAP renewals there just as you can't do those things at TDS. You can only purchase new tickets and passes but you can still get a DC discount there on most tickets, park hoppers (not PHP's) excepted.

Thanks for the help GoldenOldie! If I run into any problems, I'll use your suggestion Chuck S :p

I got my AP at the Disney Store at MCO last fall. It was about 10:00 AM on a Tuesday and the store wasn't too crowded, so the sale went reasonably quickly. It's a great way to get an activated pass with advance purchase pricing and to use a DC discount while you still can. You just buy your pass, go to a park and go through the gate as usual. No steps in between!

There is no advance purchase pricing on an AP. Without using the DC discount (or FL resident if it applies to you), the AP is full gate price even when purchased in advance.

Hey jenelope! Sounds like things went fairly smoothly at the airport ... that's good to know. I'm going to be at the airport next Tuesday around 1:00 PM so I'm hoping there won't be too many lines since we'll have a towncar driver waiting for us. :p
