Annual Pass and Parking fee

I just ordered the regular annual passes for my family and I got the Premiere Pass for myself to save on parking. I saw a disclaimer that parking is free after the first one is paid for. Can we enter after 6:00 and pay the $3.00 parking and have that count or does it have to be the $12.00 parking?

It doesn't have to be the $12.00. The reason they say you have to pay the first time is that the attendants in the parking booths have to see an actual pass (versus the voucher) in order to process the free parking, so whenever you have the actual annual pass in hand, you will no longer pay for parking. If you were dropped off (by bus or whatnot, so didn't have to park) and went in and got your pass and came back, next time to self park, you would have your pass and so wouldn't have to pay.

So, you could walk the first time. My husband always says walkin's not crowded!

It's only $12.00 during park hours so after hours, it's $3.00 but you would not be able to pick up and activate your AP until the next day. Premier passes have your picture on them so you would HAVE to go to Guest Services to get it processed. If you could have someone drop you off so you could get your AP processed, you wouldn't have to pay but otherwise you would.

Just throwing this out there, but if you got the Premier pass, you get free Valet parking. You don't have to show the pass until you pick your car up later and then you tip them when you leave. This would solve the whole don't have a pass in hand problem.

As chataro said, the Premier has free valet parking. Are you sure you didn't mean you got the Preferred Annual Pass while the rest of your family got the Power Pass.

The Premier does have your picture taken but neither the Preferred nor the Power Pass have pictures. You must pick up any of the annual passes during regular park hours. Someone can drop you off at Guest drop off to avoid the parking fees.

If you go to the USF website it says that the free valet parking for the Premiere Pass isn't good on the first visit, juat like the PAP. I've only had a PAP, are you saying that they won't notice that it is a new pass and let them park valet for free anyway?

Oops, I did get the Preferred pass. I had to check. I am also having them sent Fed Ex to our house, so I just assumed I would be receiving the actual passes delivered by FedEx. I hope I get the cards so I can bypass waiting in line when we arrive. We aren't going until mid August.

Oh, if you ordered them then you don't need to pick them up. So you will be able to use them for parking on your first visit. The disclaimer is for people who are picking up the passes at the electronic kiosks or purchasing them at the gate, etc.

ETA: the way to tell if you have the actual annual pass and not a ticket that needs to be redeemed for an AP, is to look at the ticket. It will have your name on it, if it is the actual AP. Since you ordered online, it should be the annual pass. But if you purchased it at AAA, etc. it would not be the actual pass and would need to be redeemed for the AP once you got to the park.
