We are purchasing annual passes in February but not “activating” them until our trip in November. Because they will not be activated until our first day in the parks can I still make Fast Passes at the 60 day window (we are staying on property)? Also will I be able to get the pass holder discount on tours and MVMCP if one is offered prior to activation?

Thanks all you knowledgeable Disney fans!!

Just connect your un-activated AP to your trip on MDE and you're good to go.

Yes and yes. I was also able to get a AP room discount before I activated them.

Thanks this is just the post I was looking for.... we are traveling October 4-9 this year and then a big graduation trip at the end of September 2019 ... so an Annual Pass made sense. I was just SO nervous to buy it so far in advance from the first trip but I think I'm finally understanding that it doesn't activate until you step foot in the park. AND in the meantime, I can get potential room discounts now which is the main reason (in addition to prices going up) I want to buy it now. But I'm thinking I probably only need the one AP for these benefits - not sure if I should be buying one for the other person who will be on both trips or not.
