Hello.

I have essentially 2 questions. I am considering buying an Annual Pass for 1 person in my group for a long trip. We would be buying 8 day park hopper tickets and the cost difference between those tickets alone and the Gold Annual Pass is $163. Memory Maker alone is $170. So, obviously we save a few bucks just to have Photopass included. My 2 questions are... 1) If one person in our group has an AP, are they able to download Photopass photos for anyone connected as Friends and Family. We will be traveling with our family which is 5 people plus some extended family with a group of like 15 people. If we are all connected in MDE, would I as the Annual Pass holder be able to download photos for anyone in that group the same way we can if we buy MM? 2) Does the AP offer more discounts than DVC alone, in the parks? As in, should I expect more savings than just the few buck difference for MM?

Side note: It doesn't look like Gold Passes are typically blocked out in the summer, but if they are I need to know that too.

Yes

allears.net has two PDFs that show the various discounts available for AP, DVC, TiW and/or Disney Visa:
Dining Discount Comparison: http://allears.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/disc_dining.pdf
Other Discount Comparison: http://allears.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/disc_other.pdf

The only block out dates for the Gold Pass are the week before & after Easter and the last half or so of December thru just after NYE.

AP discounts, in general are better than the DVC member discounts, but you have to be a direct owner with a blue card to get the discounts.

Also, in order to get the discounts, the person with either the AP pass holder or the DVC direct member has to be the one purchasing the product.

Having one person purchase the AP is a great way to save some money at WDW.
