I love having an AP. Makes everything so much easier. General rule is if you are going to be there more than 10 days you break even.
BUT be aware an AP and DVC is a very dangerous combination!
Too many spur of the moment trips. LOL

thank you cathy
how do you get all that stuff on bottom of your page?

Look up and there is a toolbar. One is user CP. drop that menu down and it has options of putting things into a signature (edit signature). They'll be a box, similar to a pm box and you enter everything in there.
Hope that amkes sense.

No, the AP does not include dining. But AP holders can purchase the Disney Dining Experience card for $60, which gives a 20 percent discount, including alcohol, at many restaurants for up to 10 people. You do not have to buy a DDE card for everyone in your party. Only one person at the table has to have it for the discount to be applied.

We are doing APs every other year. So we go late June then a few small trip (Oct/Dec this year so far) then again in early June all on the one AP.

Then we will do a Vero Beach trip and US/IOA during the next fall/winter and start over the following June.

It is so worth it with the DDE card as well.

An AP is a great value for the parks...especially with the big DVC discount. One of the things that makes it a good value is the ability to go into a park for even just a few minutes to shop or just a meal if you'd like. You don't have to feel like your using up a daily admission for a short park visit if that's your only park visit of the day.

Keep in mind that if you go 2-times a year, you can probably squeeze 3 trips into an AP with some flexibility. So if you go in June and November each year... you could take trips in Late June 2007, Novemeber 2007 and Early June 2008.

We like having the AP. It is even better with the DVC discount! This past year we bumped up to a PAP, which allows us access to DQ and the waterparks. As another poster mentioned, we get the DDE card that gives us 20% off meals. That is a good thing too. If you are going more than 8 days, it is definitely worth. As a DVC owner, you find your travel habits change where you dont feel like you have to be in the parks bright and early or late night. At least we dont. So the AP sorta justifies not going wide open. It allows you to come and go more leisurely.

Yes, we are able to get three trips in a year with our AP's. We just make sure that the last trip is about a week or two weeks before it expires. It works out great for us. Park hopping, no problem! Only going for a few hours, great! You really don't feel stressed that you have to be in the parks every minute to get the most for your money. With the DVC discount, it's even better.:cheer2:
