When and where usually?
Any freebies or snacks/meals?
Do they offer any special incentives if you ad-on while there?
Is it a traditional time for special announcements?

I went to a couple a few years ago, I think 2003 was the last time. The first part is the formal voting by the board. Then they do a presentation about plans for the next year. When I went it was specifically for BWV, now they have a combined meeting. Then they open up the floor to any questions. They were very careful not to go over an hour. The managers were available after the meeting to meet members individually. It was in the morning, I think they had coffee, no freebies. No special offers, this is a business meeting rather than the weekly "selling" meeting.

I actually sent a note to MS requesting that they either have a live streaming broadcast or offer an on-demand video of the annual meetings on DVCmember.com. I actually received a call from Disney regarding that request. Since the member website is about as basic as a site can be, I'm not holding my breath on this ever actually being implemented.

This business meeting is required per the association rules. They don't want questions or discussions. They just want to cover the required agenda items and go home.

There is no discussion during the business meeting. The member meeting that follows does allow questions.

This sure would be fabulous! I'd love to tune in and watch it. popcorn::

A streaming broadcast meeting or other interactive meeting would be fabulous. I wonder if it could support all the members that would log in? A great idea!

A streaming broadcast would probably be too much to ask for from DVC, given their technical abilities. I can see them making the video available for playback after the meeting.

It should be noted that Disney will not accept suggestions. They don't want to get into the "I suggested this idea, so you owe me money" lawsuits.

It was a request similar to my one mentioning my disappointment in the changes to PI. I said that many people don't plan vacations around the annual meetings and I thought it would be nice if they could be viewing in real time or see a recording at a later date. I don't see this as anything different than someone submitting a comment regarding a recent stay to DVC. They may have some policy such as what you are referencing (but I'm willing to bet there is a disclaimer somewhere that the idea is theirs once you submit a form to Disney) but it wouldn't stop me from submitting comments in the future. If I speak up, I can at least say I tried even if nothing comes from it.:goodvibes

I think this is the biggest issue. DVCmember.com is about as basic as a website can be.

In 2003 and 2005, the meeting was at the BWV Center. In 2007, it was held at Coronado Springs, and a few members questioned why a DVC meeting was held at a non-DVC resort. I know that there were snacks, no meals, in 2003 and 2005, not sure about 2007 (I think so though). No special incentives to add-on there. Yes, traditionally there is some "big" announcement made. I remember the OKW pool slide in 2003, the DDP in 2005, and the free internet announcement in 2007. However, another announcement in 2003(?) was the impending addition of coffee tables in the BWV studios. We're still waiting! If you're at WDW at the time of the annual meeting, it's fun to go and meet fellow members, listen to the comments at the open mike comment part, and meet some of the CMs. Since early December is a popular time to see the Christmas decorations, the annual meeting is an added good reason to go.

I know I read it somewhere that this years Annual Meeting is scheduled for December 9th. Does anyone know where it is going to be this year? If not, when do they normally give us that information? Sorry guys one more question....are they typically held in the AM or PM of the day?

I am seriously thinking about going this year but trying to plan our vacation around it. Appreciate all of your expert advise!!!
