We were really looking forward to today, as my son is finally tall enough to ride the RNRC! We decided to drive over to MGM after breakfast at the food & fun center, it was faster than the bus & the parking lot was still pretty empty when we arrived. When we first walked in, I took us right over to the fast pass at TOT. My family thought I was crazy, the wait was posted at 5 minutes, but I knew they wanted to ride the RNRC first....and one time wouldn't be enough for them. Sure enough, 3 rides later, we were finally ready to head over to TOT. My son would have ridden RNRC a few more times, he was in love with it! It was a walk on ride, no wait, but I could do no more. My head was spinning, I had had enough upside downs for the morning.
When we walked up to TOT it had the wait posted at 20 minutes, the standby line was almost to the gate though. We used our fast passes & walked past everyone, once again hearing people whispering we "must have gotten into the wrong lane" & giving us weird looks. We walked right up to the entrance to the room! My husband kept saying "good job" to me, he was amazed that more people weren't using the fast pass system. I thought the drop sequence was a little different this time on TOT? It seemed that last time we had a bigger drop, then a few smaller ones....this time there were several smaller drops. It was still fun, just different to me.
We did a few other rides before our PS for the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The lines were minimal, no big wait times for anything. The most crowded area to me was the playground, and that was managable. We were off to the restaurant by 12:30p. It was our first time eating there & we loved it! Our waiter scolded my DS several times about him putting his elbows on the table. My son was getting a little peeved, and when he thought the waiter wasn't around he decided to mess with me a little bit. He said "look Mom", and proceeded to bang his elbows up & down the table. Well guess who had walked up & was standing next to him? Yep, our waiter. When my son looked over at him, he nearly jumped out of his seat! The waiter then yells, quite loudly, "GET YOUR FEET OFF THAT CHAIR YOUNG MAN, THAT'S WHY WE NEVER HAVE ANY NICE FURNITURE!" We were laughing so hard....my son whipped his feet down from under his butt & sat completely still. He didn't find it as amusing as the rest of us, LOL!! When we were done eating my DS still had quite a few french fries left. The waiter came up, took the fork & got about 10 french fries on it.....then proceeded to make airplane noises & aimed it at my son's mouth. Too funny! My DS was pretty unimpressed with everything, up until the waiter brought out his chocolate milkshake....then all was forgiven.
I would eat herer again in a minute, the pot roast was to die for!!
We were bummed the Great Movie Ride was being refurbished, otherwise we did every ride/show (except Fantasmic). We meant to see this, but once again didn't stay long enough. This is on my list for next time for sure!! The Millionaire show was fun, we didn't make it into the hot seat but enjoyed it nonetheless. We ended up back at the hotel & in the pool for the evening, eating dinner in the food & fun center. We were able to hop on the monorail & check out the other hotels.....I really would love to stay at the Polynesian one of these trips, it's so beautiful!! The Grand Floridian is gorgeous, just a little too expensive for us at this time.
