Annoyances at US / IOA

If you have any issues with timeshare, look for the team member wearing a light blue polo shirt near the time share. The ones wearing the light blue polo are Guest Services and NOT timeshare. You can let them know if you are being bothered. You can also stop at the Guest Services at the front of each park and give them any details about who approached you.

I have seen a great improvement in the last few months. They don't seem pushy anymore.

That's great! Thanks!

My husband just said it would be fun to take pictures of the pushy ones and let them know you're going to guest services.

I would have more fun acting insane.

Tense, quiet voice:
"I know exactly what you want, and I'll never tell you anything.
I heard your voice in a terrible dream, and I know who you are.
We all know who you really are. You are the harbinger of death and darkness.
You are a pawn who will suck the earth into a pit of despair.
You'll never stop until it's too late.
Run away, or I'll tell everyone else where you're hiding.
Then again, I might tell them anyway."

Or just asking them/reversing the same exact questions they are asking you as they ask them....

Or yelling to the crowd, "I SAW HIM/HER ON A WANTED POSTER AT THE POST OFFICE!!!!!!!!! CALL SECURITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Although that might get you in trouble for a few minutes.

Any other fun ways to discourage time share wallet vultures?

Throw a pack of cigarettes as far as you can and watch them run to it. I don't know what it is about car and condo sales guys, but they all smoke like crazy.

:rotfl:
That cracks me up. I could totally enjoy doing this.

The timeshare people remind me of the dead sea nail people at my mall.

Me and my mom go through the food court to avoid them.

I bought it last year and they are BACK.

They stopped us and did that whole "oh my lord your nails!"

And we said 'we already own it' they didnt believe us and kept asking 'what kind? when did you get it? well, you dont own this kind!"

My sister works in the mall and EVERY DAY they stopped her until finally she yelled at them "DUDE, I WORK HERE. I WALK PAST YOU EVERY DAY. IM NOT BUYING IT"

I hate pushy people.

The "trade off" for the parking is worth it to me. Sure it takes a little longer to park, but you are always parking in the shade.

Music....haven't noticed it being too loud except when the park is almost empty.

Timeshare people and the Universal CC people etc....ITA they annoy me
However while not in WDW parks I have been annoyed by similar sales people in the lobby of the GF and at DTD.

I just got bk from Florida, and multiple visits to US/IOA, a couple of weeks ago

Ran into the TS people once in US basically growled at them and they backed off.

Also ran into some in Florida Mall, told them if they think i traveled over 12hrs in a plane to make $100 they are mistaken.

Hiya -
we went in April - and never once, not ever, got approached by timeshare - despite us being the 2 adults, 2 children mix so beloved of salesfolk - now I just feel left out, what's wrong with us?:snooty:

:lmao:

But along with other posts - we love the parking - covered out of the sun and out of the rain!!!

Were you wearing your "I filed for bankruptcy and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" shirts? :rotfl:

We'll be visiting for the first time next November. I just hate it when people aggressively try to sell you something. Especially when we're on vacation!

Any suggestions for how to avoid/discourage the sellers?

Thanks! E[/QUOTE]

I was stopped by the time share sellers my first visit to Universal with my son. Just us two went. She was doing the hard sell until she found out that I didn't have a job, only hubby did, and he wasn't there. I've never seen anyone leave so fast.:rotfl: Now I know what to say:" I don't have a job", they will never bother you again.

I was just there last week and I absoultey HATED all the people doing market research at US. I got stopped countless times. I learned to spot them quickly and walk out of the way just so I could avoid them. My b/f and I just yelled 'clipboard people' to each other and hustled out of their line of vision. Why do they allow this??

We were there the week of Halloween and never got approached. Of course, we have 4 kids so they probably thought we were too poor trying to feed all those kids we had with us!

Not to be offensive, but I think it is funny.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and I said this, "I don't have a job. I'm waiting on my Obama welfare check!". They stopped talking right away LOL.

the thing that annoys me the most when i am at universal is rain.
i hate it more when it pours rain all day long when i am there....

i want blue and sunny skies.

i hate having wet feet the entire day.

Very, very funny! I may use this happily my next trip. Don't worry ... I'll give you full credit!:goodvibes

The market people got me once, but then found out I was in the 36+ age group. And I was summarily dismissed and told to have a nice day. :lmao:

We just came home from our stay at Hard Rock Hotel and the parks were bare so the Timeshare people and Clipboard people seemed to be everywhere.

When the timeshare lady came up to hubby and I she was very nice and sweet started asking us questions and I asked her "Ever hear of a company called Sell My Timeshare Now, I work for them" She looked at me and said "Yes I have and just turned around and walked off" Hubby and I just laughed and walked off.

I found the clipboard people really bad and because of no crowdes they were on us all the time. I just told them I already did it.

I hate when it's cold and I have to walk and get the hot chocolate for eveyone while we are waiting for fireworks.

I don't like that the Cinnabons next to the Hulk are much smaller than the ones outside the park.

I think that's all,we stay onsite whenever possible but the parking has never been bad. There are looks I cultivated year ago to give prospective annoying sales weasels.

1.Just squint, purse your lips and think unhappy thoughts at them:mad: .

2.Smile as you walk by telling them to have a nice day while ignoring everything they say:wave2: .

3.Act distracted and try to clip them with the stroller:3dglasses

The music doesn't bother me too much; I can't speak for the parking because we get free valet with our Premier Pass. I do hate parking garages so it probably would irritate me if I had to use it. But then again, Disney's trams iritate me big-time too. Thank goodness I have a AAA parking pass for the WDW parks.

I am an AAA member, how can I get a Disney parking pass?

Depends on how charitable your local office is feeling. Some will just give it to you if you ask. Others only do it if you buy a vacation package through them.

I don't mind the clipboard people because they give you money vs. the timeshare people trying to suck away your money.
