Who else is announcing an upcoming cruise as part of a Christmas gift today or tomorrow? I love hearing stories about the different ways people do their reveals! Would love to hear what you have planned and/or the reactions you get!!

I like to use the character phone call that DCL provides.

A few years ago I surprised my 2 daughters with a DCL Fantasy (Eastern) cruise. I had an envelope on the tree with their names on it. It was the last thing they opened - it contained the cruise conformation. They were thrilled.

surprised my husband this morning and I just printed out the reservation page and put it in an envelope. He seemed excited. haha

Our kids learned about our combo Disney World/Disney cruise trip this morning. I had taken an empty advent calendar and each of the 24 boxes held a clue. For example #1 was 65D (65 days until we leave) #2 was the date we leave #3 airport code we are leaving from #4 MCO for Orlando airport #5 POP cause we are staying at pop century and so on, then later we had one clue for the date we are getting on the cruise and a clue that said DCL. They were really spoiled this year since they also each got a new iphone. So we got them to open the iphones first and set them up, then when they were opening the clues, they would use google on their phones to figure it out. They learned about the trip a little at a time until they had all the clues figured out! They really seemed to enjoy it!

We surprised our kids a few years ago and part of the surprise was our neighbors were coming with us. We made up shirts with all 8 of our names on them and gave the kids the shirts for Christmas.

I tried to surprise my dd with an upcoming cruise several years ago. Her response was "not another cruise, I want to go to WDW!"" Not exactly the warm fuzzy feeling I was hoping for! Several of her friends/classmates had recently been to WDW, so she had been hearing all about WDW, she hasn't been to WDW. After she heard about how long some of the lines can be at WDW, she was more excited to go on the cruise.

We surprised our grandkids a couple years ago on Christmas they were 7&5 at the time.
I wrapped a big box sat an elf on top and inside I had the plush cruise ship and characters inside with t-shirts and a couple other things.

They were not that excited at the moment after learning it was 2 months away, but when cruise day came they were thrilled.

We have done a scavenger hunt with clues hidden all over the house each clue was wrapped in a box. The first clue was an envelope on the tree with a clue which lead them to the 1st box with another clue and so one we did about 10 clues then last box was reveal with little gifts and letter. My kids loved it.

We did the same thing once for a WDW trip and the kids loved it!

We surprised our kids at Christmas with the maiden voyage of the Magic back in 1998. I had purchased DCL t shirts at the DCL preview center on main street at the MK. I also made up some certificates for them to read before they opened the gift.
