I usually post on the other boards, but enjoy reading this board very much. We are putting together a 50th anniversary scrapbook for my inlaws and we like the idea of including a page on what happened (news headlines) on the day they were married (6/12/1954).

I have searched the web and can only come up with maybe a mention, of example, a baseball score for the day, or that there was a full moon.

Does anyone know of a site that I can get a list of headline type news for a particular day in time?

Thank you for your help and have a great day.

Congratulations to your inlaws on their 50th wedding anniversary!

My parents just celebrated their 50th a few weeks ago. The priest spoke & included some historical info. Afterwards I asked him for a copy of his notes & he handed me his notebook. So I have his original notes & thought they would be neat for my sb of the event.

I just searched

& I think a lot of his facts came from this site. You might want to explore it.

Have fun!! Wait until you see how much fun you will have seeing so many relatives & friends again.

This is a great idea. My In-Laws were married on the same date and I am working on their scrapbook as I read this. We were planning a large reception for them and they decided they wanted something simple. We just got back from 10 days at the beach. They renewed their vows at the beach and we had a blast. Thanks for the idea about what was happening on June 12, 1954, I think I will do something similar.

I helped my friend make a 60th anniversary album for her grandparents last year and we included a two page "Then and Now" layout

I found some helpful information at the Dmarie Timecapsule:

Good Luck,

Iwas going to post the same link as Candi.
