Ok, so I am forward planning

We are planning to go 2nd week of December 2012. We are taking my parents and whilst there, it will be there 42nd wedding anniversary - due to ill health they never did anything special for their 40th so we would like to make up for that by taking them to Disney.

On their actual anniversary we would like to take them out for a really nice, special dinner.

The only thing to take into consideration is we will have my daughter who is 11yrs old so the menu must have a 'normal' option as she would put it (like a plain steak, burger no fancy stuff or spice), so for instance Sanaa is out of the question - she won't be ordering from a kids menu as that isn't big enough for her.

I would appreciate any recommendations ... :goodvibes

You can get a steak at any signature; just ask for it without sauce. I would definitely want a signature for a 40th anniversary.

My favorites are bluezoo, Shulas and Il Mulino. Next I'd pick either Citricos or Jiko as they are quieter. Flying Fish and Ca Grill have great menus but they are noisier and more casual.

Thanks - exactly what I need to know. I did want to do signature but was concerned about my daughter so was thinking Ca Grill ... however you have confirmed my thoughts on it being casual, I want something more upmarket. I love the look of Jiko but I was really worried about the food for my daughter but if I can get a plain steak then alls good!

My husband and I ate at Yatchman steakhouse this summer and the food was very good and I think they have a childrens menu (just checked it has steak skewers with mashed potatos and veggies (or choices of grilled chicken or fish.)):)

The steak at Jiko comes with an excellent risotto but you can get it without the sauce and with Mac and cheese (request it on the side if you don't want steak placed on top of the Mac and cheese). My son got his with mashed potatoes so I know firsthand how accommodating they are.

I hope you enjoy Jiko.

We've celebrated many anniversaries by dining at Artist Point. Obviously, we've been delighted since we always go back there We'll be there in April, celebrating our 30th.
