DH and I will be spending our 19th. anniversary in Disney this October. We are looking to have a special meal. (it can or can not include the kids, they are 15 and 17 so they don't need to actually be there) We will be on the regular dining plan and the kids would give up a credit for us to have a signature dinner.

We have been to:

LeCellier
Mama Melrose
1900 Park Faire
HDDR
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi
Kona Cafe
Ohana
Tutto Italiano

Here's the nitty gritty: we don't usually eat seafood but would try an appetizer, we are open-minded about meals, we do not drink alchohol usually - but DH will have a beer once in a while and I have had Kahlua before. Ohana is OUT!! DH loves steak. I love food. Dessert is a big plus. We do not have really dressy clothes but do have nice pants/shirts for DH and nice skirt and top for me.

So please help. Pick out the restaurant you would want to spend your anniversary and what would you order. I will pay OOP for appetizers and possibly a cocktail.

Thanks, Diane.

Have you thought about the Yachtsman Steakhouse? The filet mignon is fabulous!! They have several different cuts of steak and some other options like prime rib or chicken. Most of the appetizers are seafood based, but they have a couple of salad options, too. It is one of the "Signature" restaurants, so it would take 2 dining credits each, but I think you would really enjoy it...quieter and a more "romantic" feel for a Disney dining option. Great service, too! And the attire you listed would be just fine, so no worries there!

Enjoy and Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversay! My DH and myself spend out 10th Anniversary at the World in Oct. Our anniversary dinner was at the California Grill and was spectacular. After dinner, we went out on the patio and watched Wishes with our drinks. The food was fabulous. I mentioned it was our anniversary on the ressie and they decorated our table with Mickey confetti. My DH surprised me with giving me another ring and they brought it out during dessert and wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate. For desert we had a banana dessert, I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was DELICIOUS!!! We had the sushi appetizer as well as the lobster risotto and both were wonderful. I highly recommend it!

I will put it on the list and check the menu. Anyone else with comments on this restaurant or another you feel would be better?

Haven't tried the Yachtsman yet (eating there in May) but it always gets good reviews.

Of the ones we've been to Jiko is our favorite. The filet with man & cheese is great and they have other options, too. Beautiful setting.

We were not overly impressed with Cali Grill and I would recommend against it - it is crowded, noisy, hectic, and not at all romantic. Good food and nice view, sure, but not a romantic place at all.

Would sharing a flatbread appetizer and the filet be a filing enough meal for a normal man. I can make do and eat extra dessert, but I need to know if the filet would be enough for DH. (At LeCellier we had the filet, and shared the cheese soup w/pretzel bread) and this just filled him up. He ate all his dessert, so I am guessing he could have eaten a little more dinner without complaints.

Although Flying Fish is my favorite restaurant on the dining plan (and they do have a filet that is better than Yachtsman's), I would probably recommend Jiko for the non-seafood variety they offer. It's a beautiful restaurant and does tend to be a bit quieter than most of the places on the plan.
