Anniversary Dinner?

We made reservations for the BB the night of our anniversary but we looked at the menu and I don't see anything I'd like to eat (I don't eat red meat).

:confused3 Does anyone have any other ideas for a romantic dinner for the night of our anniversary?

Thanks!

Only 7 days until we leave! :yay:

We are eating at Napa Rose for our special dinner next week, we booked the chefs table.

Napa Rose. It's the nicest hotel on the property.

The Vineyard Room in DCA is supposed to be very nice, too. You might find more choices on there.

Steakhouse 55 is supposed to be quite good, although since you don't eat red meat, it sounds kind of anomalous for you. ;)

I wouldn't do Hook's Point. It's not that great, certainly not atmosphere-wise, and like everything else, very expensive.

Romantic is Napa Rose...Steakhouse 55 is also elegant for an anniversary dinner...We are celebrating our 41st at Steakhouse 55 in just a few short days... ...jc

ps...our DDIL doesn't eat red meat and finds Steakhouse 55 or Napa Rose very good at veg. dishes...jc

The guy who sold us our APs told us about the Napa Rose and the chef and how it is top rated in the US, not just at DLR. We told him we would be coming back to DLR for our 20th anniversary.

That said, we are still going to BB and I don't even know what's on the menu these days, I just love sitting there! :rotfl: Besides, we live not far from Napa and can eat at a winery anytime. Not that we often do, but we can.

However, Napa Rose is supposed to be very good from everything I've heard and read. I vote for that one you. :)

I don't eat red meat either. When we went to Blue Bayou last year, I had the Portabella Mushroom and Couscous dish. It was really good! This might be a good choice if you still want to have your special dinner there.

How does the chef's table work? Do you get to have a say in the menu or do you eat what the chef cooks? I have a picky husband who likes meat but does not do all the Food Network type fancy dishes (I love to try new things and the fancy stuff).

I would also say Napa Rose, although I have never eaten there myself. I hear great things about it.

Take a look at the menu for Napa Rose on allears.net - it looks really good. Quite pricey, but for a special dinner it may be worth it. It has great reviews from everyone I know who has been.

Not only is the food at Napa Rose absolutely delicious...the service has always been outstanding...worth the price in every way...This also goes for Steakhouse 55...my two favorite places to eat at Disneyland ... jc

OOoooohh we are going to Napa Rose for Our anniversary Dinner and are eatting at the Chef's counter.:goodvibes

I hope You have a Happy Anniversary and may You be blessed with Many Many more years together!:flower3:

I love the atmosphere at the Blue Bayou and therefore, we have celebrated many occasions there - including anniversaries.

Last year I was on a VERY strict food plan, but really wanted to eat at the Blue Bayou. Add to it that we were with some new friends that night and didn't want to make a big "to do" at the table about my food. I called ahead of time, spoke with the chef in charge of the Blue Bayou and he was wonderfully helpful in creating a special meal that they could make and I could eat.

When we got seated, I asked the server quietly if he was aware of my special meal that was supposed to be noted on our reservation. He was. He asked me if I wanted to speak with the chef or just go with what was pre-arranged. Not wanting to draw attention to my special situation, I said that I would like to go with what was pre-arranged. It came out with everyone else's food and was perfect.

If if you really want to eat at the Blue Bayou, call the resort ahead, ask to speak with the appropriate people, they will really work with you to make it a wonderful dining experience. That's part of what makes it Disney. :wizard:

Happy Early Anniversary,
Dreams

Quoting myself!!! Just wondering if anyone can share how the chef's table/counter works.

You get to choose off the regular menu, but the chef also sends across little tasters as well I believe. I'll be able to answer the question a week on Friday!!

"A chef's table is a concept dating back to medieval times. Royalty would invite their guests to attend dinner parties in the kitchen to interact with the king's personal chef as he prepared their meals."
Chef's Table is based upon the methodology of Auguste Escoffier (1846-1935), the celebrated French chef and master of the haute cuisine style of French cookery.

WooPs...pressed it too soon.. :lmao:

anyhoo that's the definition i found of what a Chef's table is.

I'm thinking it's going to be fun and different.:upsidedow

Hope that helped.:goodvibes
