Trying to come up with a place to have a nice anniversary dinner for my DH. Only problem is we are not very adventurous eaters. DH will eat alot more than I do, I guess I am the problem ;)

I do not eat alot of veggies, I know :scared1:, but its just how I am. So alot of the menu items at Cali Grill or Narcoossee's are not my usual faire. I just wonder if the menus at allears.net show everything they have. I can do steak and baked potato, but most things on their menus I would not even attempt!!!

Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant that serves something I might eat. My other issue is that we are on the DDP and I hated to spend 2 credits for the Signature restaurants and not be able to eat anything there.

Help!!!

Some of the other ADR's I have made are:

Coral Reef
Kona
Tutto Italia
Sci-Fi
Liberty Tree Tavern
O'hana
Cape May (dinner and breakfast) - we are staying at BC

I did try to get LeCellier, but no luck!!!

I just got back last Sat and with your choices I would choose O'hana

Oooo, good question. Anywhere in Disney is romantic! I don't know what the menu is like these days for Cinderella's Castle, but it doesn't get more romantic and whimsical then that! :lovestruc
Maybe not the 1st pick if ur looking for something with a little more of a grown-up atmosphere.

Coral Reef is a really good choice. Also would recommend Le Cellier or Tutto Italia in Epcot for fairly simpler fare.
Have you looked into the Boardwalk area? There are tons of places there:

Flying Fish
Kouzzina
Blue Zoo
Shula's Steakhouse
Il Mulino
Yachtsmans Steackhouse (which I heard has a very romantic cozy feel to it)

And if you were to pick a restaurant on the monorail line I suppose I would choose Narcoossee's as in my opinion, it seems to cater more to the "non-adventureous" ;)

BUON APPETITE!

...If you are looking in Downtown Disney at all, I HIGHLY recommend Wolfgang Pucks Cafe. It's a nice sort of modern but still romantic atmosphere, the prices are a little more reasonable and the selection is much broader.
I've eaten there several times and have always had an excellent experience.
I DEFINITELY suggest looking into it for ur anniversary. Or for any of ur meals!
:upsidedow

For simple - good - meat and potatoes choice you should go with the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Its a signature restaurant that will feel special for your anniversary, but it has primarily steak and potato entrees

You can get a plain steak and potato at Narcoosee's and also at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse. I am a basic meat and potatos eater too and I don't like all of the sauces, ect. Just ask for them to make it plain and they will also usually substitute whatever they have if there is something else you like better. For example, if they have french fries with another dish and yours is served with something you don't like-they can swap them out. I've never had a problem with doing this. I think at both steakhouses I got the filet-the Yachtman was much better use of 2 credits though-much better meal all around.

Hi. My mom is the MOST picky eater there is. We go for 10 day family trips usually, and we eat at least 1 TS together everyday. Every restaurant is wonderful about allowing her to mix and match the items on the menu to come up with something that works for her. For instance she switches side dishes, leaves off sauce, gets something plain grilled, etc.. It's never been a problem even once. I wouldn't worry about it, you should be able to find something that will be yummy for you anywhere. :goodvibes

:)OP here - just wanted to say thanks for all of the suggestions. I did go and look at some of the actual menus on wdw.com decided on the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

The main reason is there are many things on their menu I would eat. But I also figured that since we are staying at the BC the girls (15 and 16 y/o) could do their own thing around the resort, but we would be close enough if they needed us.

I also looked at the Sweetheart Dinner, but decided against doing that right now as neither of us drink and I was hesitant as I did not know what offerings they would have that day. I might have our IPO check into it while we are there and see if that would be the better way to go.

Thanks again guys!:cool2:

Fantastic choice! You and I could be sisters. I eat everything plain, and Yachtsman is my fav 2 credit. Their potatoes are plain, and the waiter didn't bat an eye when I asked for no sauce on my meat. They even let me have chicken noodle soup as my appy. The desserts were fantastic!

We tried Narcossee as well and had to send things back b/c they put sauce on the meat even though I explained to the waitress. She acted mad at me even though I told her NOTHING spicey or sauced up front.

Have a great dinner!

That's funny  Glad to know I am not the only one.... Not sure why I ended up this way, I used to eat veggies as a child. Tastes change, I guess! Thank's for the chicken noodle soup tip - the only appetizer I saw I would eat was the cheese sampler, but if it smells funny forget it!

I have been on a diet since October and have lost 78 pounds. I do not plan on eating a whole lot (if I can help it!!), but being on the DDP encourages eating - no way we could do the DxDDP!!! Well I should say I couldn't, but I think my DH could!:rotfl:

I think you made the right decision! I was going to recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse before I saw your update. It's probably the most basic of the signature restaurants, but it's a cozy, romantic place with tasty food.

Enjoy!
