Has anyone had the GF deliver an anniversary (or any other special occasion) cake to their room? I was told to call the GF at least 48 hours in advance and they would have one of the Chief's make one up.
Thanks,
Tom

We had a cake delivered to our room last April for our 10th. It was ordered from the Grand Floridian Bakery. It was a vanilla double layer cake, with buttercream icing. It was so fresh and delicious. I called about 5 days before our vacation. After check-in, it was delivered to our room. Not sure how long it took, but it was there the next time we came back. (roughly about 5 hours later). :goodvibes

Anywhere to see the types of cakes on-line, or they just describe over the phone?

Is there a minimum size, because it will be our anniversary, along with our DS!

We'll be at the WL is this available there or can you order one from another place?

Here is the number for the bakery in 1900 Park Faire 407-824-2982. They offer many different styles in all price ranges and they only require a 48 hour notice.

I haven't seen any sites, other than the wedding one, that has pictures of their cakes. Many DIS'ers have posted pics of what they've received. Everything from simple round cakes, to the cute one with Cinderella's castle as the topper.

If there will only be two of you, go with a 6". I made the mistake of ordering an 8" this past Dec for DW's bday, and it was a lot of cake for us to force down over a few days. The 6" was around $25, I think. The 8" was closer to $40. The bakery asked what kind of cake, recommended a filling, and I chose the icing (buttercream). I don't know if it was an odd day, but the buttercream icing was heavy on the butter and light on the sugar.

I also ordered a Mickey head cake a couple of years ago. It was a lot of cake too. But the decoration was too cool to not do at least once, even if we did end up throwing some of it away. I have a pic of it somewhere.

We had a cake from the GF deliver to our room as well. It was beautiful they put a white chocolate mickey and minnie wedding topper on it. It was too pretty to cut it up but we did and it tasted great.
