Anniversary at Poly

Just wondering if anyone has celebrated an anniversary at the Polynesian? We are staying at the Poly/Concierge and celebrating our anniversary too, and wonder if they do anything special.

We stayed at Poly Concierge for our 18th anniversary in Aug 2000. I noted on the itinerary planner that they sent ahead of time that we would be celebrating both our anniversary and DDs birthday. Nothing was said or done for us, so on our last full day there I asked why the itinerary asks if you are celebrating any special occasions. I was told it was so they could do something special for you. I told them about our occasions that weren't recognized. When we got back to our room later that day, there was a balloon and a card for my DD. Our anniversary was never mentioned. Please don't think that I was only looking for 'something for nothing'. Since they specifically asked if you were celebrating anything, and then told me that they do something special, I was disappointed.

We were at YC Concierge last August, and were surprised by a card wishing us much happiness on our 19th as well as a lovely Minnie and Mickey anniversary pin.

This coming August we will be at BC Concierge and then the Disney Cruise for our 20th anniversary. I won't be expecting anything, but if anything is done it will be an added bonus to what I know is going to be a fabulous vacation!

On our recent stay at the Polynesian I was surprised to find a nice 100 year certificate that said "Happy Anniversary" and a single rose in a vase in our room when we checked in. I had mentioned we would be celebrating our anniversary when we made our ressies and then mentioned it again when I called back the week before to confirm my room requests. We did not stay concierge but I would imagine they may make a bigger deal for someone in concierge. I was thrilled that I got anything!

When we celebrated our 10th anniversary and my wife's birthday on a trip in 2000, we found a cake and a card waiting for is one night. I probably would have been a little disappointed if nothing was done, but it wouldn't have ruined our trip.

We just got back from Polynesian GardenView Concierge and we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. I did put the anniversary on the planner but we didn't mention it to the concierge staff while we were there. On our anniversary they presented us with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket, a plate of chocolate goodies, a mickey and minnie in wedding outfit in white chocolate. That was a very nice surprise.

We had exactly the same on our anniv. last year--hope the mousekeepers like champagne, because we don't drink it! But we enjoyed the chocolate! Our first trip we were celebrating DS's 2nd bday and we had a card and cake waiting when we checked in. Both times Poly concierge.

For dd's 9th b-day last Aug. we received 2 cakes(we were with a large group), party hats, horn blowers, confetti, balloons and a card from Mickey and gang. My daughter was thrilled with all of this and still doesn't know how they knew it was her birthday!

We just came back a couple of weeks ago from concierge/poly I noted our 25 ann. on the itinery and received an ice bucket champagne, plate of truffles, and mickey/minnie and a card.
