My husband and I have been so many times, but we try to be very low key and considerate to other people, even when we have our kids with us (very seldom-the DIZ is our private retreat) We don't expect freebies or anything but HE LOVES OUR TRIPS, no matter where we stay, and I really want ot have a great trip this time.
Trip is Apr 20-25, staying at POR. The 20th is his bday, the 21st our anniv., and the 22nd my bday. I want to make sure that he gets SO MUCH attention that he will be happy until the next time we go, which because of me starting school and our oldest going to college this year, will be a few years.

DOes anyone have suggestions on getting upgrades to some romance-or even things I can do for him that are going to be memorable, that we haven't done in our 10 trips so far?

Thanks!

Go to Guest Services in any park. I think they have Anniversary badges.
Once I asked for one and got a Congratulations instead. So could be they were out, or just handed off what they first saw. :confused3

Also, you could have disneyflorist.com send some flowers or a basket to your room. DH did that for me and it was a great surprise!

Guest Services will give you one and also you can get one from the resorts...anniversary pins that is. We were Family of the Day at the American Adventure, also got a free desert a couple of times and we were in a kissing contest at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, all very nice but nothing too exciting. The nicest thing was all of the people who wished us a happy anniversary!

So many people on the site have stated that the resorts hate to get emails and faxes concerning room requests.

I was just going to write a letter to them, explaining that my DH is the most wonderful guy (he's way more cute than Capt. Jack Sparrow) and is one of the absolute BIGGEST DISNEY FANS in the world and would love it if they could print me up some things they recommend to do-from expensive to free.

Would they be offended and put me in a cruddy room-which speaking of, are the rooms great at POR?

Thanks again!!!!!

When you get to POR, be sure to mention that you're celebrating birthdays and your anniversary. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and it was my DH's birthday last time we were there, and we were given buttons at our resort. Make sure to wear the button, as we were lead to the front for some attractions, given a free pretzel, and lots of "special attention"!
Have fun!

Although this is not a "freebie", it will be fun.

Go see Paino Man Bob Jackson at the River Roost at POR. He plays Wed thru Sat from 830-Midnight.

On the "side", Tell Bob that its your husbands b-day without hubby knowing. Bob will call him up on stage and have him sit next to him on his bench. He will play and have the crowd sing happy b-day to him. Its fun and embarrassing at the same time. Trust me, DW did it to me for my 40th in 2004.

#1 way to get noticed = DO NOT try to get noticed.

Seriously.

It works!

Get a button and leave it at that. :)

If all goes well, the pixie dust will find you!

You could pay for special things like a birthday/anniversary cake at one of your sitdown meals or a private fireworks cruise aboard the Grand One. If I wanted my husband to have a very special trip these are the kinds of things I'd do for him

Peggy will take great care of you if you let her! Try searching for Peggy's Sweets and More...

We will use her again for this visit in May. More importantly, we will use her for our Anniversary trip in March '09!!

I would go with get the button and wait for the magic option. We had buttons for our anniversary and DH had planned a dinner at California Grill and told them when making the ADR it was our anniversary. They decorated the table with mickey confetti and gave us a great table near the window.

When we checked in at the Poly they upgraded us to a MK view room. The lady in the quick service place (can't remember its name) gave us free dole whip. Loads of ppl wished us happy anniversary, not just CMs either.

We had a great time, if you do make any ADRs tell them its your anniversary and wear your button - the disney magic should find its way to you. Have a great time!

If you make ADR's, just mention that you are celebrating your anniversary. We got a special free dessert at 1900 Park Fare.

we just went for my birthday and i just said something to the girl checking in and she gave me a button, and i got noticed all over the parks everyone kept saying happy birthday and when we got back to our room there was balloons card, and even a small cake from the hotel.

Thank you SO much for all the advice! I am so excited to be going and since he is absolutely the best guy (no offense to everyone's DH's) I have ever known, I want to make sure he gets the best!

we're going to be celebrating our 25th anniversary  lol at the BWVs.
i did have it put on our ressie, & (hopefully) will wear the buttons.

i'm planning the segway tour for us (in epcot), dinner at CR on "the day", maybe a few nights at PI.
the day of, i'm planning to sit in the gardens behind england, drinks in hand, & listen to illuminations

On our last trip, DH wore a shirt that said "Today, March 16, is my birthday." He also got a birthday button. He got lots of attention including two Mickey calls, an announcement at HISTA, an announcement at the CS by the Hall of Presidents, three free Mickey krispy bars, and some fast passes.

On the other hand, a few days earlier DS wore a "Today I'm 7 shirt" and got the birthday pin. He didn't get much notice.

For our anniversary one year, we didn't get buttons but we had it noted on our ressie at Sci-Fi. The castmembers sang to us, gave us a certificate, frisbee, and free dessert.

On a side note, DD celebrated her birthday at US. We were chosen to be in the Macy's parade and she got to dance all through the parade. She got about four free cupcakes and got to sit in the front on several rides.

This year we'll be in Disney on MY b'day. I plan to wear a shirt that says "Today I'm 36! WooooooooHooooooo!":woohoo:

I mentioned it would be our anniversary during our stay when I booked our trip. We got anniversary pins when we checked in, and there was an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie in our room with balloons!

We both wore our pins every day of our trip, and got many, many "congratulations!" from cast members.
