Annabelle Hydrangea?

Does anyone have an Annabelle Hydrangea? I've been thinking of getting one this spring. I have a good spot for it, and I'm wondering if those of you who have one, are happy with it? Is it as nice as the picture shows it to be, or kind of ho-hum?

White flower heads more erect than Grandiflora. Thrives in shade. Flowers may be small the first year; normal size by second year. Height: 4-5' Spread: 3-5' Shape: Low growing, rounded. Foliage: Dark green. Fall color: Insignificant. Zone: 3-9.

Oh Snowwark! I can't believe no one responded to this thread of yours. And you respond to nearly every thread here too! Well, shame on us! Either that, or your thread just got lost in with all the other postings!

It certainly looks pretty enough. I have no personal experience with it. I wonder what kind of hydrangea my mom has. Of course, you heard all about my panniculate-type hydrangea that I thought I killed the other year. Wonder how it will do this year.

Hey! Does anyone have an Annebelle Hydrangea or know of someone who does and can give Snowwark some information here?? TIA.

On Kim, those are SO pretty. I have the traditional blue but they really put on a show. here they are last year.

I have a girlfriend who had an Annabelle hydrangea. It was quite beautiful but truthfully, I prefer the blue. It's the hot color side of me! LOL LOL LOL

Vanessa, are your hydrangeas the Mophead ones ( Macrophyllas)? I have trouble keeping them all straight sometimes!

Sorry, don't have one. My sister is in the market for two hydrangeas though. I will show her the picture, but I think she is a sucker for the blue ones as well!

Does the color of the flower depend on the pH of the soil? Or is that not the case with all hydrangeas?
