What's the current status of the Anna & Elsa M&G at Disneyland? Where exactly are they holding court, and are the lines as bananas as they are out in WDW? What's the best strategy for getting to meet them with the shortest possible wait? Will be there this time next month during the week, to the extent it makes a difference.

Thanks!

They're meeting in Fantasyland, between Pinocchio and Pinocchio Village Haus. It used to be where Rapunzel met guests, but it was re-themed for Frozen last year. There is a very cute Olaf figure on the roof. As you enter Fantasyland, stay to the left side. Go past Snow White and Pinocchio and you'll find their M&G.

I don't think the waits are quite as crazy as they were at Epcot (I heard reports about 5-7 hour waits), but they're not going to be walk-up at DL either. I've seen and read about wait times around 2-3 hours for them. They do not meet during EMH/MM, but they do start meeting at 9:00 am now. So, you'll see a good number of the rope drop folks heading start for their M&G.

We were there this past weekend. On Saturday (DL Early Entry) we were behind a guy at security at 6:15 am who was ready to go for 7 am EE. He said he was going to go straight to the Anna & Elsa line and wait until the 8 am M&G started (park opened at 8 am). He had missed it the previous time he had tried, because he had entered the park at 7:15 am for 7 am EE and the line was already over 4 hours long (not counting waiting until the M&G started at 8 am).

We lost sight of him after going through security, but during the hour we were going around different rides and at about 7:45 am we walked out of Pinnochio to come across the Anna & Elsa line. It was packed, and all full of Dads! And the guy we had chatted with was at the very front, so we congratulated him as we walked on by.

Now this was Easter weekend, so perhaps the parks were busier, but that is what we saw.

actually that's pretty accurate for any morning.. weekends busier of course but still about the same. they average 3-4 hour lines per day, no fast pass options.

We went straight there at rope drop on a non-MM day and only waited 30 minutes (it was a week ago Friday). Highly recommend this strategy!

30 minutes isn't bad at all. We've waited that at many other M&G's.

I'm so hoping this will happen for us. My DDs really love A&E, and I would love for them to meet them. We are going in August. I'll wait an hour, but I'm not going to wait 3-4. I'm going to try this method.

Definitely straight at rope drop.

I'm not 100% sure it's the same at DLR as it is at WDW, but at WDW we were allowed to have one person wait in line, and the rest of us come back when it was closer to our time. May not be an issue anymore with the earlier opening if you get there right away.

We did Rope drop yesterday. We were at the front of the partners statue at RD and still had a 2hr. wait. I don't know how that happened. We rushed but didn't run. Lots of people ran. It wasn't MM or EE...so...did I miss a " wide right" technique? Lol!

Wow so the line starts at the EMH but doesn't start moving until regular park opening?

We had a similar experience except we showed up just after RD and the line was 3 hours long already. We went in the afternoon one also and it was 3.5 - 4 hours.

No matter how you slice it, it still seems ridiculous to me. 1 hour... tops! That's the most I would wait.

I don't see how it's possible to only wait 30 minutes if the EMH is 1 hour long and they don't start until regular park opening. But if it's true, that's some magic right there.

oh gosh this is making me nervous. I thought if we got there early for rope drop on the Wednesday of our trip we would be good. Is there a direct route i should know about lol this really is the top of the list for our kiddos.:sad1:

Non-MM a week ago Friday. Was there for rope drop and waited 30 mins, which is really like nothing in the scheme of Elsa and Anna!

I didn't think of MM. Thank goodness it just worked out that way.

I will say that I asked a castmember if I could just wait outside the line until my daughter got to the front or would he prefer me to walk by everyone and get in line with her (I had to stop by the potty). I am one of those that hates walking by everyone in line. He said he preferred that I wait outside of the ropes. There seemed to be a lot of families doing this. I sure was happier standing waiting by the front than in line personally.

oh yah i would be thrilled with 30 min. If i get there early for rd and go straight there for it to be 2hrs already I might cry.

I'm also wondering if the lines are worse during the week due to spring breaks? Wishful thinking but I am hoping it won't be too bad on a weekday without MM during the school year (as I mentioned, 2nd week of December). I imagine weekdays won't be much different from weekends during breaks (spring, summer, fall, winter) and the wait will be long immediately.

Same day we did it and had a 30 minute wait. We were in line together! :)

They have a space near the front of the line for families to re-join one another before going in. It was our first day at DL this trip, so my mom and I were able to take the two nieces on Dumbo, Casey Jr. And Carrousel while my sister and brother-in-law waited in line, then we rejoined where the CM said to. He said most families do it this way and that they even encourage it, to both keep people from pushing through lines and because a multi-hour wait is too hard on young kiddos.

This is nuts hahahaha this is what makes me hate certain things, I love Frozen but come on now really? And I've waited for band meet and greets but never 2-3 hours long I don't think.

When we were there two weeks ago it was a 4 hour wait at least. My dd looked at me and said let's go ride some rides! That line is crazy?"

As far as RD strategy goes....I would stand on the tomorrow land side of the partner statue. That group moved very fast to the castle compared to the group that I was in, which was in front of the statue. There was also a group to the left of the statue that took the little left side entrance bridge to FL....I just don't know if that's faster. Less congested though.

Perhaps if you had a daughter who truly loved it and was dying to meet Anna and Elsa, you'd feel differently. Or maybe not -- everyone is entitled to spend their time in DL as they choose. Clearly a lot of folks find it worthwhile, hence the long lines (though I'm unsure why that makes you hate it, but that's certainly your prerogative).

We decided before going that we'd be willing to wait up to an hour. Anything more than that would have cut too heavily into our time to see and do other things, and the kids agreed. But for some people, meeting these princesses is more important than doing almost anything else. And I say, good on them! If that's what makes their trip magical, fantastic. :goodvibes
