Anna & Elsa - New M & G Opportunity

We were there Aug 11 and it as the regular princesses. Fortunately we went to DL during a non MM and got in the pre-line and an hour later DD4 met A&E.

But we did have a great time at the breakfast and I'm glad we went. I liked the food much more than the princess lunch. I had tri tip w/ scrambled eggs & DH had a veggie fritatta (we shared both). DD had a waffle.

Also we managed to get one of the nice Anna dresses w/the cape when I stopped at BBB our first day which DD wore to the breakfast (and pretty much every day on the trip) -yes, she wore it again today. Her birthday isn't until Halloween but we all agreed this was a great early b-day gift. I did not look for Elsa dresses but saw a ton of girls wearing them so I'd assume they are coming into the stores regularly now. We also picked up A & E dolls (the nice barbie ones w. the removable clothes) at world of disney who also had a good supply of frozen merchandise like dolls, clothes and whatnot. My favorite purchase is an Olaf xmas tree ornament.

If you go to the A&E meet and greet (not the meal) then about how long are the waits in the afternoon? Do A&E leave each day at 5PM, or is that just the latest you can get in line and still meet them?

I've seen the waits go almost immediately after rope drop to 3 hours and stay that way until they shut it down. I'm assuming they end it sometime before the pre-parade so maybe 3:30 or 3:45pm. I don't know if they open it up again after the pre-parade. I would never even try to do the M&G w/o the strategy posted here:

1. do regular entry day (not MM -MM's are PACKED)
2. arrive at gates no later than 30 min prior to opening
3. go to gate 14 (or whatever line is merging to gate 14)
4. follow cast members holding small black circular A&E signs to pre-line forming at the end of main street (near statue of Walt).
5. CM will lead you in 5-10 min prior to rope drop
6. If there is > 1 person waiting take turns waiting while you enjoy Fantasyland rides whose lines are not so bad.

We waited an hour but still squeezed in 5 rides in that hour. Some have posted that sometimes the first 30-60 min is just 1 sister but when we went (Aug 10) both sisters were there from the start.

Well I'm having trouble figuring out if there will be MM hours at the park the day we are there. Sat 10/25. This is our only park day except MHP on Monday. If Saturday is a MM day then would you:
1. Just get in line as soon as normal park opens and wait
2. Get in line at 3 on Monday 10/27 with MHP tickets.

My guess is Monday crowd will be considerably less than Saturday.

Why gate 14?

For our upcoming trip we will also having our first day on Sat 10/25. And we are going to use that magic morning, so I will also appreciate inputs regarding A&E

We will be there 5 days at least so I dont think its wise to use the MM for the Meet and Greet.

To clarify I only have two day park tickets so I'm not eligible for MM.

Gate 14 (and 19) have a tree about 6 feet from it so folks tend to not realize there is a line there- by the time we get there the gates are open and typically one of the other lines splits to gate 14 and one of the gates next to it- this has worked for us 3 times- the line moves much faster than the others usually.

yes - although we found the pictures we took from our phones were just as good but if I had purchased photopass+ we definitely would have printed the pix the photopass photographer took too
