Happy Sunday!!

If you are in Animator's Palate for 3 nights on an Alaskan cruise, is there anything special on the screens? For example, on a "normal" cruise, you will see Crush, Animation show, and pirates pictures. But, since there is no pirates night, is there anything else they do?

I hope this makes sense. :) Thank you!!

Crush isn't on the Wonder. Only the Drawn to the Magic show, and Animation Magic. While there's no Pirate night, there is either Frozen, or Pixar night on past cruises.

There are basic animation pictures there on most "other" nights.

Ohhhh... I didn't think about Crush not being on the older ships. So, there will be the animation show where you draw and then just animation pictures maybe based on the theme night. Thanks!

From the DCL website:

On the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder
Be drawn into a spacious yet stylized dining room that recalls a real-life, hand-drawn environment in black and white. Animator’s Palate boasts a fantastic architectural design, where proportions bend and slant suddenly and sketches showcasing characters and scenes from Disney and Disney·Pixar films adorn the walls around you.

Dinner shows include:

  • Drawn to Magic
Behold the evolution of animation—from pencil test to ink-and-paint. Follow a hero's storytelling journey through Disney and Pixar animation, where wishing upon a star paves the way for happily-ever-after. In an emotional finale, the black-and-white interior of the restaurant is transformed with splashes of vibrant color. Join Sorcerer Mickey as he leads the fun!
  • Animation Magic (available on 7-night and longer sailings on the Disney Magic)
Try your hand at drawing your very own character—and then watch in wonder as your creation becomes part of the show, dancing alongside some classic Disney characters. You won't believe your eyes!

Thanks so much for going that extra step to look up that info! I will be honest in that I didn't even think to look on the website. My first thought was to check with the boards! :)

I have been trying to determine if we should request being in AP for three nights.

Thanks!!

Can't advise you on that. We always go with the rotation that DCL opts to give us.

On our May Alaska cruise, we were in AP on nights 1, 4, and 7. Drawn to the Magic was on night 1, Frozen night was night 4 (don't know what they did, as we ate in Cabanas that night), and the Animation Magic was on night 7.

We at AP for 3 nights on our Alaskan Cruise too. To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed. I will say we prefer the big ships to the smaller ones and that's not everyone's cup of tea but after doing the two bigger ships, I was excited to see the difference and it was fine, but nothing exciting. Frozen night was just a special menu and you get a light up snowflake necklace to wear to the Frozen Deck party.

Yes, as @ironz demonstrated, if you have AP for 3 nights on a 7-night, the second time you're in there will almost always be Pirate Night or the equivalent "special" night. If you only have it twice, it will be Drawn the first night and Animation the second night you're in there.

Do you remember if there were any special pictures on the screens? For example, Frozen images on Frozen night, similar to the Pirates images on Pirates night? Thanks!

Have not been on a ship with Frozen night, so I don't know. Sorry!

we have done two seven nights on the Magic with 3 nights in Animators (not by request by accident!) our rotation both times was ACLACLA

Both times the first night was the 'show' night, on our first cruise the middle night was pirate night and the screens showed pirate images/clips etc (but we had pirate night and frozen night on that cruise - Frozen had been night 3 in Lumieres) on the second cruise (this summer) it was the Prince and Princess menu that was served throughout the ship ... we didn't go to dinner that night as we were in St Petersburg and had had 5 course lunch!) Frozen night that cruise was in Lumiere's again but the second visit, both cruises the Animation Magic was the last night. I assume they use the screens on Frozen night in Animators ... they have all the images ready for the Frozen meet and greet that is held in there.

I don't remember the pictures being any different than normal. I think they were your typical clubhouse/princess/movie type pictures. There are a lot less screens and less interaction than on the bigger ships. I just remember the necklace and special menu.

The pictures were definitely pirate themed on pirate night, you can just about see them in this picture IMG_1701.JPG
