Does anyone know if the drawing classes are still held on the half hour and how long they last? I think I remember them lasting about 20 minutes...trying to fit it in before an lunch ADR so need this info. TIA

Still every 30 minutes on the half-hour, and I would estimate about 25 minutes long.

Yeah, classes are about 25 minutes (slightly less than 30 minutes).

Don't know when they start, but I know this past Monday, during extra magic hours (that would close at 10pm) the last class was at 9pm. Not sure if "1 hour before" park close is the usual thing or not.

These classes are fun! We're a bit bummed out we couldn't go (our annual passes just expired), but we did them several times and my family loves this activity!

Where is the Animation Academy located? Tried googling info on it and got Y.E.S. program 3 hr class stuff?! A 25 min one sounds awesome! Is there a sign up or line? Can you make reservations?! Thanks SO much for this thread!

In the Animation Building, in the back of Animation Courtyard which is also home to Disney Junior and Little Mermaid.

No sign-ups or reservations, just a line to get in. It often has more people waiting than can fit at one time, I recommend arriving just as one class lets in and you will usually make it into the next.

It is a 20 minute class that runs every half hour. Between The Little Mermaid and the Disney Junior Stage, right past the bathrooms. They have 50 light board desks and then an additional 10-15 seats along the back that just use a board. Line up about 15-20 minutes before each class. They will tell you when they have reached capacity for the next show and give you the option to wait for the next one. You cannot make reservations. It is definitely worth doing. Fun for artsy and non-artsy people. Kids and adults will love it!
