Planning to spend a day here. It will be three of us. Dh , me and DD 8. We are staying at AKL. This will be the only park we do. What should I Fast pass? If you stay on property do you get to choose FP before others? Is there a good plan of attack? Things not to miss.Any secrets? Thanks all!

Fastpass the safari (earliest you can - the animals are most active in the morning before it gets hot).

Everest is another one to consider with one at 8 not sure if this is a priority for you. Finding Nemo can be a challenge to get into depending on crowd levels so might be another good choice.

Secrets? I like the lowest deck off of seating at Flame Tree BBQ as it is quiet right on the water with a great view. Easy to miss if you stop walking too soon. Also, we walk slow into Tough to Be a Bug so we can really look at the tree up close and see the animals - good photo ops in the queue. Lots of people pass by us but the theater is large so no worries.

There is a great playground area with massive slides and bridges just outside of Dinoland that your son probably isn't too old for yet. Also don't miss the treks so you can get an up close and personal view of gorillas, tigers, etc. if it is back up and running I think festival dl the lion king is the best show on property. Great mix of music, dance, and, acrobats. Tusker house has what I think is the best character meal on property. If you have all day just take it slow and enjoy all the tucked away animals and walkways AK has to offer.

Do you really need a FP for Safari if you are planning on doing it first thing?

I would do Safari first thing in the morning without a FastPass and then do it again later in the day with a Fastpass.

If you go when it's hot, I would definitely FastPass Kalo River Rapids. Quite honestly, I think the ride doesn't live up to its hype, but lines get long.

Your third fatspass is dependent on what works for your family. If you're going to do Everest, that's an option. But, Dinosaur might be an option as well. It's a good ride, but not necessarily worth a 30-40 minute wait.

Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo are both very good shows. I've seen both many times and do not tire of them. Also, if you have time, make sure to see Flights of Wonder.

And, I echo the lakeside view at Flame Tree Barbecue. One of the best in all of Disney.

I would ride the Safari first thing when you get there. Ride either early in the morning or closer to 5pm if you want to see the Lions out and about.

I'd book Everest, Dinosaur, and if you like water rides then do Kali River Rapids. If not, then book safari.

Primeval whirl- don't need a FP
Finding Nemo- it's a big theater with plenty of good seats. But I dislike the show quite a bit, so I'd never use a FP on it
Its tough to be a bug- don't need a FP for it

I like to start with the Safari, then go on the Pangini Forest Trail while it is cool, then do indoor shows like Nemo later. For EE if you don't want to wait or want to ride again without waiting you might looking into the single rider line - usually a short wait but the queue at EE is really well themed. There are many beautiful places to sit and chill at AK - lots of nooks and crannies to explore. I also like the lower deck at Flame Tree BBQ for a seat near the water.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes
