Animal Kingdom- yes or no?

3 years ago I took my niece, then 7, to WDW. The day we went to AK, we were walking in through all the trails, etc., not really talking, just taking it all in. Then the conversation went like this:

Niece: Auntie?
Me: Yeah, babe?
Niece: This place is awesome.

I think it is the most under rated park of them all.

We love AK! It took us a long time to finally go, thought it was a "zoo." No, no, no. The shopping is fabulous, especially in Africa! The food/drink is wonderful, too. There are some nice rides, even for the queezy folks, and we like it because we can enjoy all of it in a half-day, then head over to Epcot for more food/drink & shopping

Perfect for a mother-daughter trip, IMO!

Soooooooooooooo I just read this whole thread. We plan to visit AK on Wed. July 26. We have been once for 1/2 day and it was fun. We have been to the other parks several times and thought we haven't really done AK. 1. How crowded will it be? 2. We have only one day to do a park could we be making a mistake by choosing AK?
All opinions welcome. Traveling will be me and DH, DD17, DD15, DS13. We do love the outdoors, but hubby does tend to get hot easily.

If your husband gets hot easily and he will be miserable, I don't recommend doing AK in July. It's going to be VERY HOT, and most likely VERY CROWDED. There is little to no breeze in this park, and as I said in a previous post, the foliage is very close together and almost makes it seem like you're walking in a sauna at certain times of year. Now, if you wanted to do Kali River Rapids to get drenched (hopefully) and THEN walk around the park, that might be an option for you. But, if your hubby is going to be unhappy because he's hot, AK shouldn't be on your priority list for the summer, IMO.
