I was thinking of getting the Donald's Character breakfast at AK later in the morning around 10:30. Do you think it's possible we can get there when the park opens and ride the safari first then go to breakfast? I think safari and this breakfast are on opposite sides of the park... about how much walking time?

Yes, it's possible -- if you're at the turnstiles right at opening and walk briskly through the park to the safari. If you make it on one of the first half-dozen vehicles, you'll have plenty of time. At a brisk pace, it'll probably take you 10-15 min from safari exit to breakfast. If you take your time, it could be 30-40 min.

Either way, it's doable.

Yes, it's doable. The key is to head directly to the safari once the rope is dropped. That's where the crowds will be heading!! It's like the start of a marathon, except you only have to go about a 1/4 mile! Worse case you'll have
a 10 - 15 minute wait (based on our experiences) and again be at the rope drop. The safari is about 30 minutes, so you should have plenty of time for a 10:30 breakfast reservation.

Thanks!
They said they had times from 8:30 to 10:30 but I heard ride safari first thing when the park opens so figured 8:30 we won't be done by 9.

Another question - I figured a buffet breakfast would not take more than 45 minutes. Do you think this will cut a lot into our AK day? I know some people say AK only takes 1/2 day but it's our first time. I guess we can get stuff done right :)

Sometimes you can get into AK early if you have PS reservations for the character breakfast. Last time, they didn't let us, but the time before they did.
If you can, get the earliest possible PS and get there early!

Thanks. I guess we might have to wake up early this day. :)

Of course I'm not counting on it, but this is what I am hoping for as well. We're going to be 2 adults, so no worries about seeing all the characters. My best case scenario is that we get a quick ride on Dinosaur after our 8:10PS and then race over to the Safari (at least to get FP). Dino is my favorite AK ride, so I like to ride it as much as possible. Depending on the stamina of who I am with, we may just go from Dino to Safari to get a FP and then back to Dino. :) Thankfully I don't care for Primeval Whirl, so I get to benefit from everyone heading there first.

I have 10:20 PS for the breakfast in 2 weeks, and here it my plan: We will head straight to *other* attractions that nobody goes to first - water rapids, dino, etc. Then pick up a fast pass for the safari and go to breakfast. Then we will use the fast pass after we eat - with minimal wait, and we've already ridden lots of other rides that will be packed by then. That's my *plan* anyway. Any comments?

We have a 10:30 PS for Donald's. Our plan is to ride the Safari, then grab a fastpass for something else before eat. :)

That's how I've done it in the past. It works well - but since you have a 10:20 PS and want to be there at least 10 mins. early I'd just count on Dinosaur and Kali, and maybe Primeval Whirl if you have the time.

The only reason I chose the earlier time for my next trip is because I'm going with a big "breakfast" person who likes to eat at 6 or 7am - we are pushing it with an 8:10PS hehe.

So my comment is, I think you will be fine. ;)
