I just won an ebay auction for a 7 night stay at AKV and my email came today to verify that we will be in the Jambo house. Can anyone tell me a little bit about this location? I have never stayed at AKL before and vacation club is new for us. I know I can add the dining plan without the purchase of tickets. We plan to do this once we arrive. I have lots of disney visa points accumulated to help us out. Are we allowed to use the pool at kidani village or is that for those guests only?

Jambo is beautiful inside the lobby. According to recent changes You will have to add the dining plan and pay for it at least 48 hours prior to checkin.

AKL (Kidani and Jambo House) are free to go pool to pool but they are more of a drive apart than a casual stroll. You can catch any park bus too as they go from Jambo to Kidani to the parks. Doesn't work so well on the return trip though for what should be obvious reasons. LOL

Thank you! My ebay seller did tell me that I have to pay before we check in. I will probably take care of that in Jan and then Feb make the dining plans! We are going Aug 7th. Is the Jambo house a different building than the main lodge building? I'm confused.

Jambo House is the main lodge building. One in the same.

Jambo house is the original Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it's beautiful!

I understand that there is an electric cart that will carry guests to/from Kidani/Jambo.

The buses to/from the parks go first to Kidani and then to Jambo. If you want to take a bus to Kidani from Jambo, take the DTD bus.

Sorry. Thanks for the correction, Bobbi. I could have sworn it was the other way around but we always drive everywhere so the mistake was honest.

OP - you may already know this but only the ebay seller / DVC owner can add the DDP for you. You will have to work that out with them and pay them for it when it is added.

He told me that he can add it for me at anytime before our check in. I guess the 48 hours rule is in place now. I've been watching this particular ebay seller for about 1 year now and finally took a bid. Did I mention that I won that particular auction for only $740 for 7 nights. To me that seems like an awesome deal for AKL!

I do know we are in a studio room. I read somewhere that all studio rooms have a bed and a roll out couch. Is there bedding in the room for that couch/bed or do we need to bring it with us?

I forgot to add that we usually rent a car and don't use the bus system.

Yes, there is bedding for the sofa bed. I'm sure you will have a great time - AKL and AKV are absolutely beautiful. I would definitely take the time to walk or take the bus to see AKV-Kidani even if you don't use the pool there (which you can) - we loved Kidani even more than Jambo.

From the pictures it looks like there is a lot for little kids to do at Kidani and there is a water play area as well. I imagine we will be spending a lot of time there! We want the dining plan and want to do one day at Sea World this trip.
