For those of you who are reserving at AKV (after May 1st), how can you make sure that you get a villa in the new wing?

You can book either Kidani, the new building, or Jambo, the present AKL.

You will know at the time you make the reservation if you are in the Jambo House (existing lodge) or Kidani Village (new section). They are not just requests, they booking categories.

Perhaps this is getting a bit picky, but....I was discussing this Friday with the operations team at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kidani Village is easy. That's the new-totally DVC wing being built. They now refer to the entire existing resort as Jambo House. The DVC units are the Jambo House Villas and the non-DVC units are referred to as Jambo House Lodge.

You can check for availability at both and book either building. FYI, If you have multiple rooms of different sizes (ex: 2bdrm and studio) you probably have a better chance of them being near one another at Kidani than Jambo, since Kidani is all DVC.

We will be at AKL in June for 9 nights. We wanted to try out Kidani so we will be there 3 nights - looking forward to the extra bath and hoping to see new animals on the the Savanna! And then we will be 6 nights Jambo Concierge! Should be fun.
