We are doing vow renewals next july. We have 109 points coming in september, and 100 next september. If we borrowed 2016 points we would only have 209. We want to book a one bedroom value, but would have us, an eight year old, an 15 year old, and two 2 year olds. Will they let us have two kids in cribs, plus four additional people? Help!!

not in a value 1BR, no.

value 1BRs accommodate 4 people (plus 1 child under 3). 6 is not even an option...you'd need a larger 1BR (and that would still be suboptimal...)

How long are you staying? A standard view at either Kidani or Jambo will accommodate the 5 + 1 under 3 and you could supplement with up to 24 one time use points from DVC at the 7 months mark.

We would be staying July 22-29th hopefully. So 7 nights. Would a 1 bedroom standard be available at 7 months?

That's where it just seems so weird. The twins sleep in the same crib, or by then they would likely sleep on one side of our bed in the master bedroom, and the 15 year old and 8 year old would sleep together on the queen sofa.

in july, i would expect so...
So hopefully there is hope. Ahh I'm so stressed. This six person plan all depends on if my stepdaughters mother lets her go or not. I won't know her answer for sure until the 22nd when I need to book. Last vacation she didn't let her go, so the uncertainty may kill me for the 22nd haha.

I agree - it is most likely (probably more like almost certainly) going to be available at at least one of the buildings if not both. And Kidani would give you 2 bathrooms in the 1BR standard view. That never hurts! What you could do is book 6 of the nights at 11 months and then just finalize the 7th night of the reservation at 7 months when you can buy the one time use points.

I didn't think of that. Thank you! My brain is on hiatus after all the planning and dress buying this weekend lol. Plus I can't call yet as we are waiting on our member number still.

For the time you want, all AKV room views and sizes (including standard 1BRs) other than value or club level were open each of the last three years well beyond the 7 month window. It is one of DVC's lowest demand times of the year at WDW

If you are booking at 7 months your chances of getting a value 1 bedroom are almost nil anyway best bet is to plan on a standard view which will allow 5 +1.

I don't think they will let you have 6 in a 1-bedroom, regardless of whether you "fit". It's a fire code thing - not a Disney thing.

Should you consider two studios instead of a 1-bedroom? The point requirements would be almost the same, and you can legally sleep 6.

There are many 1 bedrooms that have the occupancy of 5 and you can always add 1 child under 3 On top of that. Some have the beds for 5 and some require you to provide bedding for the 5th but the plus one is allowed no matter which group the 1 bedroom falls under. That is why the OP will be fine in a standard view since 2 of the six occupants are two years old. It's just that AKV value 1 bedrooms are 4 plus 1 and actually is the only 1 bedroom type they can't book with their group.

OK - you are right...I thought they were all limited to 4, but I checked, and she should be fine in a standard room. Hopefully she has enough points.
