Animal Kingdom Swap PAGES - CLOSED & COMPLETE

Thank you very much everyone!

DIT, have a good time in Chicago! (Unless you're not going for pleasure.. in which case, I hope it's bearable)

Nice work ZTH!

I'll be out all morning tomorrow but will check-in in the afternoon.

I have everything cut for Harambe Village and hope to get it assembled tomorrow night.

For my Kilmanjoro Safari ( I will make sure that is spelled correct) on my title do you think it needs to state that wording? My journal box already has that printed on it, so I was thinking it is a little to repetive. I was thinking about having the title read "natural wildlife" or "wildlife". What do you all think?

Sounds good:thumbsup2

Soudns good to me too!!!

Susan, please keep checking the swaps for me. I don't know how much I'll get a chance to be online. I don't want to pay for internet access so I'm using the free wyfy in the lobby, but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get down here. DS is still sleeping so I was able to sneak away for a bit.

Chicago is HUGE!!!! I'm so not a big city gal! But, we are having fun.

Hey, just wanted to let you know I mailed today.

I know, I know, you're away! But don't worry, because I mailed Parcel Post, so it's not even supposed to get there until the 9th at the earliest. I also have DC, so if it's not showing up after you get home, we can use that to figure out where it is.

I guess consider this me checking in for Wednesday too. :)

Okay I just completed my last group. I will mail these out when I complete the Everyday Theme swap, which will be a little while. Hope you like:

Each page has a hidden "bone" that is the journaling area. This group took me a looonnnggg time to cut out and assemble. There were a lot of "littles" as I call them to make it complete.

I really like this one and how it turned out. I was a little unsure with the busy background paper, but once there are pictures on there I think it will look nifity. I choose the paper since it resembled the icon next to Mickey.I went with a title that did not read "Kilmanjaro Safari", since it was already on the journaling spot. It is a simple title, but hopefully it captures what the ride is like... seeing the wildlife in there natural habitats.

:WOW!!! These are fabulous!

I just checked to see if I get these and I do :cool1: I didn't realize until now that I am in every group and will get everything that has been posted!:yay::woohoo::banana:

I love them! And those dinosaurs are especially cute! I don't think they're too big.

And the paper you used for the "Wildlife" page is really cool. Is it from a stack?

Glad you guys like them. ZTH the paper from the "wildlife" page is from the stack. I could not wait to use them. I love that one. I used it for my Animal Kingdom park page in the Disney ABC swap as well.

There's a wildlife stack? Is that the actual name of it? I don't think I have that one...

If I had a little boy I would absolutely want those pages in his album! My boy is 15! Those are both great pages NM. Love the dino's. Cute!

Nemo Mom. Really great pages.

Question - I'm trying to make some dinos for the Card Candy Swap. And they are just not looking very good. I've got the same Cricut terydactyl (SP) cut out in blue and green and tried to layer the two, and he's just looking really sad.

I was going to try some others too, but wasn't sure if they'd look just as bad and didn't want to waste any more paper. Your little spotted guy looks really cute too.

The Card Candy swap was due last Friday and I just became an Angel for these pieces yesterday so I want to get it done ASAP. I've got to figure out either how to make the little dinos look better, or move on to something else. I've got two girls so I'm used to princess stuff and haven't made the dinos before. Any suggestions? :flower3:

I've done a few things with these layer-less dinos. The problem for me is that they have no dimension.
1. use chalk to add dimension
2. make your own layers - -you can see where the cricut lines don't cut all the way through -- I've pop-dotted heads and arms to give them some dimension. Cut out 2 of each dino - -you could cut one in a different shade to add dimension too. I think it was the triceratops that I ended up cutting out 3 -- one for the base, one for a head to pop dot and one bone colored for the claws and horn.
3. Do you have the cuttlebug, or something that embosses? You could emboss a layer
4. I haven't tried it, but perhaps the cricut markers? I just assembled 12 reindeer from CHristmas cheer and at then I realized I should have used the markers first:mad: I'll have to use the pens that add dimension now - -you could try that too.
5. the pteradactyl -- if you make a layer by cutting off his wings -- the shoulder area I mean, you could try flocking that
6. THe ones with the open spots -- glue a different colored piece of paper behind it

Last -- do you have scal? There is a free font called ding-o-saurs -- you can cut a bunch of dinos with that. If you don't have scal. maybe you could print some dinos? I'm don't know what the requirements of your swap are though.

Hope this helps.

MegB-

Susan had some great ideas (going to have to try the pop dotting and cutting several of the image in different colors... that was a good one:thumbsup2).

For mine I sanding the edges of the big one and the little dino on the ground. I used the coordination paper on these two. Then I added "googly eyes" to all of them. For the big dino I cut out an extra one, cut off the scales and traced it on different color and glued to the dino. For the little brown dino I just put some pattern paper under the spots of him. For the flying dino I cut him out in the blue and brown. Used the brown for his beak and feet. Then I cut off the under part of his wings, traced on pattern paper and glued back to him.

There's a wildlife stack? Is that the actual name of it? I don't think I have that one...

The DCWV stack actual name is Safari Chic. It came out earlier this year with the "Green Stack". It has a nice texture to every page.

Thanks Susan! I have loved yours so far, but sad to say I am not in those groups:sad2:.

In the Kilmanjaro page I thought maybe with the title "wildlife" once everyone gets them they could add some wordage to it in their own handwritten or something. I was going to put "wildlife and in very small letter under it with () around the work "naturally" or something. I decided to leave it simple and those who want to can add more to the title. I dont mind if others want to revamp my pages to make them fit with their photos.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Those are all really great ideas. I really like the little dinos, but don't have enough time to be messing around with them.

I'm going to print this out and put it with my Paper Doll Ctrdg. This time around I decided to throw in the towel, just because time is of the essence and I have a lot of other stuff on my "to do list". I just want to get the Card Candy done and out the door. I ran to ACM and found really cute dino paper in the color scheme that I was already using so I'm going to spend the night cutting and glueing and get them in the mail tomorrow so they won't be too late. :flower3:
