Okay....I have my ressies for OKW ( my home) for 3/29-4/4. Kidlets really want to stay at Animal Kingdom. Have enough points for a value 2BR. Are those rooms open yet? Why are the points so much less? Just wondering what the scoop is before I move us from big rooms at OKW to little rooms at AK.

As far as I know, the AKV Value rooms only exist at Jambo (none planned for Kidani) and are smaller (I believe shorter door to balcony) than the current AKV rooms. (Normal AKV 1BR/2BR sleeps 5/9 and Value 1BR\2BR only sleeps 4\8)
Value includes some pool view and some Savannah view (I believe all of their Savannah view includes the construction), but you do not get a guaranteed choice.
Due to the attractive points usage, and possible advantage ob being somewhat closer to the elevator, AKV Value may be really really hard to get outside of the 11 month AKV owner window.

The value rooms are 3 feet shorter, since they were created out of the old standard view rooms. Several posters have felt they were cramped. I think you should consider this when your first choice was the roomy OKW. Of course there are many terrific features of AKL.

it is a whole lot smaller - most of the stuff is still cramped in the room.

the bench in the standard or sv for a studio is not there.

plus at Jambo - remember that this would have to be connecting - so even more room will be gone.

I think someone say the doors is before the kitchen.

Lisa S is the expert.

you can get pool, savannah or parking lot views.

so you are taking a chance with value views. that say loved my value studio - have a view of the pool. It also had a short cut to the buses.

Being that this is our first trip "home" I may stay with OKW. We were at All Star Music in a family suite last fall. There are six of us DH, me, DS's 13, 10 and 8 and DD, 5. We were on top of each other in the family suite. I think spreading out is probably the way to go!

May wait till we buy more points and go the standard route in a few years.

Very smart to stay at OKW. I would NEVER try that large a group in a value level at AKV.

wise decision on your part.

also waiting will maybe get Kidani up - it will not only have bigger villas - but the 2-bedroom - will have 3 bathrooms.

in your size family definitely worth waiting for at Kidani.

at Jambo right now the master bath is just a combination bath and shower together.

Thanks for the great feedback! I very much appreciate it! I keep telling the kids......we will be going more than once....chill out!
