Animal Kingdom Rope drop

Hi,

How is the best way to get to animal kingdom for rope drop? We are staying at AOA and am comfortable with uber.

Is your goal to be in the park 45 minutes BEFORE official open (like the first people in the park) or just to be there in time to take advantage of being their early? We stayed at Kidani Village recently (so we're closer to AK) and we just took the bus, got in the park almost 30 minutes before official park open but was nowhere near being the first ones in the park. Went straight to FOP and it was a 20 min wait, most of that just walking through the queue, was having breakfast at Pongu Pongu after riding by 8:15am.

You can still get to the parks early enough to take advantage of their early opens without have to go to extreme lengths to do so IMHO. But if you want to ensure you are one of the very first people in the parks, hopefully others can share their plans for doing that.

We stayed at Art of Animation last week and rode the bus to Animal Kingdom. We were at the bus stop one hour before official park opening time and got on a bus within 5 minutes. They must have opened the gates at AK right before we got there because we walked through and then walked onto FoP with no wait, other than walking through the line, and then rode it again with very little wait. We didn't take Uber to any parks, but relatives drove from Pop Century to AK and got there a little later than us because buses were allowed to arrive before they opened the gate for cars (which would include Uber).

We had great "bus luck" every single time at AoA! We bused to AK, HS and MK using the above schedule and never had to wait more than a few minutes. We were going to take the Skyliner to Epcot, but it stopped running for a bit just when we got there, so we took the bus instead and took the Skyliner "home."
