Animal Kingdom Ride Ratings

I was doing some park planning and was looking at an Animal Kingdom map. It is the actual hand-out park map that was scanned in. In the key there is a symbol of a yellow circle with an exclamation mark in it. This note says, "May be Frightening to children".
Would'nt you know it that the only ride that actually has that notation is the 'It's a Bugs Life ride'. Which if you have seen Moms afterwards calming down their crying kids afterwards you would believe it.
Here's the what are they thinking part of the post. No other ride at the Animal Kingdom had that note. The last time I looked, the Yeti might be termed a little frightening. I would think a dinosaur trying to eat you would count also.

There isn't a height requirement on It's Tought To Be a Bug - so maybe too many parents thought it would be great for children of all ages. Expedition Everest does have height restrictions - that is warning enough for a lot of people - maybe Disney didn't see a need to put a caution for that reason. I can see your point though.

Yeah, I see your point too. Dinosaur is arguably the scariest ride at WDW, I'd say it definitely deserves the 'frightening to children' distinction as well.

Tough to be a bug has gotten us twice. DS 4 + 7 months swore that he would like it after having to walk out a year and a half ago. At least this time they gave him cool bugs in the "walk of shame area"

Dinosaur has ruined him probably forever. He has been scared of the dark ever since (about a week). I wish that I was joking but sadly, I'm not.

Physically, he loves any ride that we can get him on. Mentally and emotionally however is a whole different story.
