Can anyone tell me details about using the Rainforest Cafe entrance to AK? We are leaving in 14 days and I would really love to try this but need details!!!
Thanks so much:)

I dont know what you are asking.

Rainforrest cafe sits right outside the turnstiles at animal kingdom.

Rainforest Cafe at AK has two entrances. One in the front of the restaurant before you enter AK and if you walk through the gift shop you will see an entrance that goes right into AK. There is a turnstile there with CM's and you will need park tickets to use this one. If you only want to eat there, use the front entrance.

Hope this helps

Walk into the Cafe (you'll be in the gift shop.) Turn right and walk out into the outdoor courtyard.

The entrance gates to DAK are right there.

I'm not a big fan of choosing to enter this way as it is not always faster than waiting at the main gate.

But you can certainly take a chance that you'll get in before the thousands of others waiting at the main gates.

Sometimes this is a good idea, sometimes its not.

Like the previous poster said, if you are just going to eat, then just use the Rainforest Cafe entrance which is right before you get to the park turnstiles. You might also want to consider going to the one at Downtown Disney if you are just going to eat.

If you are talking about going to the Animal Kingdom theme park and then going to the Rainforest Cafe to eat, you can do one of two things:

1) Exit the park through the same turnstiles you entered in;

2) Go through the Oasis on the right hand side (when heading back to the park entrance). Just before you get to the register when you rent a locker, you will see a Rainforest Cafe sign on your right. There is a pathway you can take to the Rainforest Cafe. If you are planning on going back into the theme park, you'll need to have your hand stamped by the Disney castmember standing near another stand of turnstiles.

Hand stamps are long gone.

Now, with the finger-scanners, all you need to re-enter is your valid ticket and your finger. ;)

I can't believe I typed hand stamped. I know that those are long gone. I guess I just wasn't thinking. I know that they have the finger scanners now and have for a couple of years. Thanks for pointing that out!

Sorry I didn't go into more details:)

I have heard and read mention of a "secret" AK entrance through Rainforest Cafe.
I just wanted to know about it. Lots of people have mentioned using this particular entrance to beat some crowds and make it to EE faster.

I just wanted to know about it. If you are planning on being at AK around opening should you go through RFC or just the regular entrance? If you are there around 8:30 can you get in RF to go to that entrance or do you need to wait until closer to the park opening?

Here is my deal. I am leaving in 14 days  and just trying to get last minute things done!
There will be 6 of us...3 adults and 3 children. I have to get a double stroller and my sister has to get an ECV so we will be going in like normal. By the way, does anyone know if they let you get that stuff early before the park opens? I don't remember!
I thought maybe my mom could go get FP for EE through the RF entrance...is it quicker route wise and maybe crowd wise??? Thanks so much!!!

Strollers must be rented inside the park...
UNLESS they happen to have a pre-rental area set up outside the gates. You'll still need to pick up your stroller.

All parks have Stroller Rental just inside the gates.

MK: to the RIGHT, under the Train Station.
MGM: to the RIGHT, inside the "Gas Station"
AK: to the RIGHT, you can't miss it.
Epcot: inside the Front Gates (and another at the International Gateway)

Single or infant (newborn to 9 months) strollers: $10/day (no deposit) OR $8/day Length of Stay rental
Double strollers: $18/day (no deposit) OR $16/day Length of Stay rental

As I said in my #4 post, you are really just taking a CHANCE that the Rain Forest gate will be faster than (or even "as fast") as going thru the main gates.

Important:
If you arrive 20-30 minutes before the opening time (highly recommended) after going thru either gates (you will nearly always be admitted inside the gates earlier than the posted time,) you will then be held (again) at an interior "rope drop" area in front of the Tree of Life.
Then, Cast Members will walk the collected guests to either EE or Safari, depending on which ride is preferred first by guests.

So it would be good to just get there at 8:30 and follow the CM to EE when you can because lots of people will still be back at the gates waiting?
Once they let you in for rope drop can you get a stroller or ecv, or do you just hang out up front at the rental place until 9?
Thanks!

We'll assume a 9am open time (non-AM EMH day)

1. Gates will likely open to everyone (and stay open) about 8:45am.

2. You can rent a stroller inside as soon as you pass thru the gates.

3. If you enter via Rain Forest gate, and need to rent a stroller, you will have to "back-track" and go completely across the hordes entering thru the main gates to reach the stroller rental area.

4. Once you have the stroller (or send someone on ahead) there will be a second "holding area" where guests are held again until "straight-up" 9am. (There may or may not be a "Rope Drop Ceremony" with Disney characters that lasts about 5 minutes that will start about 8:55am.)

5. Guests will be walked from the rope drop area to both EE and Safari at 9am.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know that we can get in and get our stuff about 8:45. We will just get there at 8:30 and go through the main entrance:)
