Animal Kingdom Question

Has anyone done Rafiki's Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom? I don't really get what's there.
Would you recommend it for people without kids (but act like it themselves)?

I want to go over there because I've heard you can meet Jiminy Cricket there (the one character I'd love to get a picture with - I've got a bit of a fascination with him at the moment. ) but won't bother if that's all that's there for us.

I think that when we went last year there was also a falcon for you to pet and it showed you the animal work disney do. There is also the goats outside that you can brush and a little animal show.

We diddnt think much of it and neither did the kids but you have to go and see to know

We love it!!

We watched them training a big porcupine. He was SO cute!!

I want to try and go when they are doing check ups/surgery on the animals too.

Yeah the two reasons to go there is the petting zoo (Just really goats) and some Animal Education. For the educations part, depending on when you go, they they have some little animal interacting shows. They also have places where you can watch them take care of the animals and sometimes see some medical procedures. (like minor surgeries) There is all a Air Conditioned house to learn more about the animals. Its something to do once.

They often have some creature out to touch, snake, lizard etc. Worth a trip over if you have never been.

We always visit Planet Watch during an Animal Kingdom visits. Plently of adults there without kids

My DH loves to go to Planet Watch to meet Pocohontas!!!! There's also the talking bin which made friends with my 2 DD's a couple of years ago.
Not really alot to do otherwise but its a nice break from the hustle and bustle and at least you can make your own mind up about it.!

On each Disney trip we've had a surpirse "favourite" thing that we weren't even aticipating really going on or enjoying!

I can't wait to see what it is next trip!

So we will redo everything next time, even stuff we didn't rate last year, as well as trying new stuff.

One of our "must do" attractions each trip is the "Sound of the Rainforest", a welcome respite from the heat and the hurly-burly.

Ithink I'm right in saying this but this is where you can sit in some soundproof rooms and listen to the mother tree thingy?

It's actually one of my favourite things to do in AK. The kids don't like it as they get scared of the sounds around them but I love it! I think this could be what the previous post mentioned but as usual I'm usless as remembering names etc

The train ride over is fun and if you like animals it's educational - if you've done all the other popular stuff then go for it. Not a lot to lose really!
