Animal Kingdom question (crowds, late afternoon) ...

We want to do the rapids as our last ride (or couple of rides if we go twice!) of the day. We will probably stay until nearly closing. We are going in October. Is the line likely to be long then? I know a lot of people consider AK to be a half-day park, and I guess many will leave after the parade. But will enough leave to make the lines short for Kali? I also know that a lot of people leave this ride for last like we want to, because of the getting wet factor! I would hate to leave it til last, just to find that it's a really, really long wait! If we knew it would be crowded, we'd get a FP and ride it earlier.

It is my experience that the lines at Kali are significantly shorter after the parade. You might want to try to get a Fast Pass with a return time after the parade and you can do it twice before you leave.

Keep in mind, though, October weather has its ups and downs. I have been to parks in October when it was too cold for my liking to do water rides, so be prepared!

My suggestion would be to get a FP, to be on the safe side, then go and do something else, and come back. Or get your FP whenever you're over that direction, and then go back anytime after your FP time has started, it doesn't necessarily have to be in the "window". Say if you're FP is from 2:05-3:05pm and you don't make it back there until 4pm, that's OK, you can always go after your given time, just not before. I agree with you on leaving it until last though, you may get off of Kali with only a few drops, but you might be SOAKED.
