Animal Kingdom Park Strategies???

We will be doing the Animal Kingdom for the second time next week for the morning. I have a 9 year old daredevil daughter & 13 year old son.

What would you recommend as the path we should take to hit all the best attractions at AK?

We are NOT going on a EE day.

We are then heading to Wilderness Lodge for lunch at Whispering Canyon!

Have one of you head to the safari to grab fast passes....maybe if there is one of you that is not interested in riding Dinosaur, that one could go for the FP.
with FP for sarari in hand....head to Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl and Kali (be prepared to get wet, or this may have to wait til later in the day). Then do Tough to be a Bug (you may want to get FP for this and do this after the safari).

Then head over for the safari. depending on the crowds.....you may have to pick up fast pass for Bug on your way to the safari and see Bug afterwards.

The Lion King show will be closed, so you will have to decide if you want to see the other shows, like Tarzan Rocks or Flights of Wonder. Check out the times for those.


This is what we do:
Get FP for safari
Ride Dinosaur, and Primeval
Get FP for Bug
Ride Safari
Get FP for Kali
See Bug
ride Kali

Go back to resort, dry off and go to lunch.

I may be wrong, but I have reasons to believe that The Tree of Life a.k.a. Tough to be a Bug may be best to go on first. There is never a line first thing in the morning. It holds 400+ people and fills up during the day. If you are only making a half day of AK (it sounds that way) you could get into one attraction really fast and save the fast pass that it would use up for another fast pass attraction. I do agree with doing safari earlier rather than later. Just may want to do Bug's life first and you should be able to still fit in dinosaur AND Primeval Whirl before the safari FP expires. Before heading to Safari get your Kali FP so the clock can start ticking while you are on safari.

I agree with Cindyfan. Tough to be a Bug can wait until after Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur. A second or even third FP for Bug will allow you to go when you need a nice respite from the heat. Rapids opened a little later (10:30 I think) when we were there last week. There was a long line waiting for it to open, but the line cleared up fast and we had a nice short wait without a FP shortly after it opened. Try to enjoy some of the lovely trails before you leave, perhaps while waiting for a FP time.
