Rumor is Animal Kingdom won't be offering evening EMH for awhile at least. They are going to add extra morning EMH days, but no evening EMH starting next week or the week after.

I love evening EMH at AK, I'll be sad if they don't bring them back. We have done it a couple times and loved it. Riding EE in the dark is AWESOME. Plus the park is very pretty at night and most importantly COOLER.

During the month of March (starting on the 6th), the park will be open until 8pm for all guests. EMH will only be in the morning, but you still get to enjoy the extra 2 hours in the evening every day.

Wow...that is interesting. I didn't hear that part. Open until 8pm, huh.

It looks like even into April, there's no evening EMH but some days the park is open until 8pm...others it's 5, 6, or 7. Looks like some serious planning will be required..

Scott is right. It's no longer a rumor. They are keeping AK open later with no evening EMH.

Lisa - I'm with you, I love later nights at AK. I think the park lightening is very well done and enjoy just strolling around at night. Not sure it will be completely dark at 8:00, but maybe.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed there weren't any evening EMHs for our June trip, then heard about it on another podcast. That was actually my favorite nighttime EMH. EE is just fabulous at night! :guilty:

I'm sure it was due to Customer Demand!

I read part of the reason for the change was due to low attendance for the evening EMH. I can almost understand that, because whenever we have done it, crowds were basically non-exsistent. We rode EE over and over last time as a total walk on. I think people just don't think about AK as a night time park at all. And I used to think that too until I tried it.

Frankly, I'm surprised they are extending the hours until 8pm in March. Basically that is like an evening EMH every night. If the park would have normally closed at 5pm, staying open until 8pm is 3 extra hours. Maybe they are thinking if the posted parks hours are until 8pm for everyone then more people will stay. I've always noticed the park seriously clears out after Jammin' Jungle and the last FOTLK show.

I love the atmosphere at DAK after dark. There is just something exotic and romantic about it. Maybe this feeling is enhanced by the fact that it isn't something you get to experience all the time, so when you do, it seems more special.

I don't buy that bit about DAK being any hotter than any of the other parks. It only seems that way because it's the biggest, hence more time spent outside in the heat going from one air conditioned building to the next. Plus, there is a good number of outdoor attractions, meaning even more time spent in the heat. So it isn't any hotter, you just spend more time in the heat there.

Maybe they'd have to light the walkways with bulbs and that light bulb technology is just too outdated for them.

Last time at AK rode EE just as the sun was going down.It was amazing. Hope will have a chance to do it again.

We have never stayed till the evening at AK, thought love this park.
Looks like I need to add an evening visit if the park is open later in June/July :goodvibes

Any time we've been to AK, we can't even make it to the parade. :confused3 We just look at each other and say, okay, we've had enough, let's go. This trip, we're purposely not getting to AK until after lunch. We want to see the parade, and we've made dinner ADRs at Yak & Yeti (DD15s request). I love being in the parks at night, and even though it will be August, it would be nice to see it at dusk.
