Animal Kingdom never finished?

Animal Kingdom should be improved, only with more day activities for children. Having some type of activity for the kids would add to the fascination of the park. Having the park stay open late to me would be a waste, can't see the animals on the safari, and I think the park is spread out to much for walking and seeing attractions.

I for one would LOVE to see a land dedicated to mythical creatures. I would think lots of kids would like the wonder and fantasy that comes along with the folklore of mythical animals. Not to mention the stories behind the creatures, what culture they come from and what importance they played in that culture.

Actually I like the direction they are going better. Just add the mythical legends of the particular lands in as attractions such as the Yeti. I think it melds more seamlessly with the themeing. Unfortunately all I can think of are mythical creatures for Asia.
Kinda makes Dinoland the odd land out as well though...

Greek mythology has centaurs, minotaurs, pegasus, medusa, unicorns. Almost every culture has some dragon myth.
Scotland...the Loch Ness monster
USA...Bigfoot or whatever other name to call it, the Jackalope
Norse...Trolls, dwarves, gnomes

The problem in putting them into their natural environment is that WDW would have to build a section for that culture and we know how quickly they build large sections like Asia.

So are there any mythological animals for Africa? or Australia if they decide to build that rumored section?

Since we are talking about DAK as it was originally intended and dreaming of what it could be, I wish they would get rid of the tacky H&C and build the Excavator. I had forgotten all about that until one of the other posters reminded me of that. The DAK book I got that first year had an Imagineer artist's drawing of it as well as BK.

Locked Out Logic, you seem like a true fan and I wish the people in charge now had that kind of spirit.

I would love to see some more animal immersion in Animal Kingdom! I wish they would do some ride in the river where they originally had those Radio Disney tours. I love the thrill rides, but what gets me is the theming. I was shocked to read about the Yeti missing and not being repaired! Are you kidding? Disney's reputation is about doing everything better and it is not going to stay like that if they don't live up to it. Ugh. Also, maybe they'd do better with merchandising if they a) had the CM's demonstrating, performing, etc. in order to sell certain items (merchantaining more) and b) had a wider variety of different items instead of rehashing the same things that are in all the parks. I love seeing items that reflect the theming of the area. I don't want to buy a princess dress in AK, sell me something DIFFERENT and I'll buy it.
