Staying at AKL - any suggestions for other places to eat that won't take forever to get to using Disney transportation? (4 adults and 5 kids)

You're very close to the All Stars, and a huge McDonalds.

Otherwise, you're very close to 192 which has a slew of restaurants, although that's not on the transportation line.

Besides that, it's a bit of a busride to the other resorts. The AKL is sort of secluded from the restaurants.

Of course, there are the restaurants on site (Boma and Jiko), both of which are very good.

Restaurants at Downtown Disney and any of the parks, which are all a direct bus ride away. Epcot has the best variety of sit down places in that regard.

Those are your best bets. Restaurants at any other resort will require a transfer from a bus to some other form of Disney transport (either another bus or the monorail), as there is no direct resort-to-resort transport at Disney (except for resorts which are on the same monorail or bus line, which does not apply to AKL, as it has its own dedicated buses).

All the park restaurants are options. Many great ones to choose from. The MK monorail resort restaurants (i.e. Chef Mickeys) are also not too hard during park hours as can take bus to MK and hop on monorail there.
