hi we are staying with our points at the animal kingdom lodge at easter time. we booked the concierge floor. does anyone know what that includes. specifically what food and drink.
thanks. also we want to have a view of the animals, what view should we ask for?

We did the AKL concierge past year. We were on the much maligned sunset savanah. We had no problem with it at all, there were lots and lots of animals below our balcony. You did have the roofs below that slightly obstructed your view, but we didn't even notice that. The fact that we were thirty steps from the concierge lounge was worth more than anything.

I am not a concierge veteran. After reading many, many posts, I saw that the AKL concierge services were about the highest rated. I would have to agree. We did a Poly concierge stay a few months later and foud it to be below the level of goodies and service that we found at AKL.

AKL had four hot food choices, two adult, two kid, every night. along with four bug things of cold juices and lots and lots of other stuff.

I guess the services were similar, one or two concierge reps there at all times, always eager to help and please.

We did the same thing over New Year's last year, and while many would say it's not an economical way to use points, I say "do what you want - they're yours!"

Going concierge will spoil you for anything else. Give 'em a call before going with dining and other requests, and they'll handle everything, and have a spiffy printed itenerary for you when you arrive.

The concierge lounge was like staying as a house guest at your best friend's home. I was surprised in the mornings how many folks showed up in robes and slippers, and there were kids sprawled in front of the TV in PJ's. I thought it was all just rather cozy. If you don't see what you want, ask ... as a family of Cokeaholics, we had to ask for soft drinks, because they weren't placed "out," but the staff was oh-so happy to oblige.

Have a blast!

Sorry, that's GROSS! I'm going to spend my valuable points for a top-drawer experience, and I am subjected to watching people stroll around in their pyjamas? No thanks!

Does anyone know if you can do a 'cash' upgrade to concierge level if you booked a savannah view at AKL on points?

Just wondering. We saw the 'Great Hotels' episode on the AKL and DH liked the looks of the food/snacks on the concierge level, but the points are just TOO HIGH! I don't want to spend any more points on this room (we are only staying one night and then moving to OKW for the following 3 nights of our stay).

Thanks!
DJ

The only way to combine points and cash is to pay cash for some nights and use points for the others. You can't combine points and cash for one night.
