I have managed to book Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first 2 nights and the last 5 nights of our stay.

Just received the confirmation and it states we are in the Jambo section.

Can anyone update me about this section.
What factilities are in place.

Cheers

Jambo is the main lodge, where cash guests stay. That means you have all the savannahs to see the animals. You've got Boma, Jiko and Mara for dining. You've got the main pool and the gift shop.

In effect everything is close at hand and well established ~ you'll love it! :thumbsup2

The new resort that is opening next month is Kidani.

We stayed at Jambo House for 10 days earlier this month and loved it - Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fab resort... ::yes::

We stayed in a 1-bed SV at Jambo in April last year and can't wait to go back to Kidani. We spent ages just watching the animals from our balcony and soaking up the atmosphere at the lodge.

thanks Claire!!:thumbsup2 Does that mean they are different prices too??

The points are the same and so should the cash prices. Be aware that Jambo only has value and concierge, and at Kidani standard can inlcude parking lot/pool/garden view rooms but Jambo standard are pool view. Both have savanna view rooms.

thanks Claire thats really good info!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We are currently looking at buying into AKV, so just so I can get my head around what we can get for our points - If we decided that we could only afford a standard view one year, if we booked Jambo would that definitely mean a pool view (do all the standard views there face the pool)??:confused3

If so that would be great!!:cloud9: - I really didn't fancy risking a car park view so was trying to always get a savannah view, but that would give us a great 'cheaper' option!!!

Just returned from 3 week stay last weekend, part of our trip we managed to stay in both Jambo & Kindani. Our original booking was in Jambo house but on arrival in our room we were joined on the balcony with a swarm of 1000's of bees who promptly settled all over the balcony. Much confusion followed but we had to stay put for the night, (keeping balcony door firmly closed), we were relocated next morning to the newly opened Kindani village + 200 dollars compensation (spent in Jiko that evening), so double result. Although only half of Kindani is open it's really nice, alot quieter than Jambo house with its own pool & restaurant, well done Disney for sorting out in there own magical way.

Yes Jambo standard is pool view but the 1 beds only have one bathroom and that is just a bath/shower combo.

Well done to DVC for sorting it out for you :)

So any pictures of Kidani to share?

Claire ;)

We stayed at Jambo the past few weeks and loved it. AKL is a great resort. I liked Jambo as it was so handy to the Mara, Bomas, Jikos etc. We did go to Kidani village and it looks really great too. I haer the pool is better there :)
