My parents have been talking and they decided that we will buy into the DVC during our next trip to Disney. Basically our choice is between AKL and SSR. I personally love AKL, but I have never stayed there. Anyone stay there and really like it? I think it seems more "disney'ish" than SSR.

I LOVED AKL. It was gorgeous and the views are amazing.
The only downside is it's distance from everything (other than AK) of course)

Ive stayed at AKL once and it was personnally heaven. I loved everything about it from the lobby to the animals. When you drive up to AKL you will just be so excited and so shocked by the beauty. Then when you walk in the lobby and see all the details of the lobby you will probally think your inluscinating. Theres the amazing african head piece, hand crafted chairs etc. Then when you are walking to the room for your first time you will see windows with animals. Its just such an amazing hotel the food is great Bomas has so many yummy dishes and dont forget to try the African stew at Mara. Also Zawaida(market place) was a favorite for my family we bought t-shirts in there, also amazing paintings of the hotel etc. This hotel is so wonderful and I would highly reccomend buying DVC here

they have a dedicated bus system though. so its not too bad.

I love SSR. That's where we own DVC. It's very disney themed, too. The best rooms are the ones that overlook downtown disney (SSR is within walking distance) and you can see it lit up at night and it looks really cool, too. And on your way back to the hotel you can usually see the fireworks from Fantasmic/IllumiNations/Wishes depending on what time you're on the bus provided you're not already at one of those shows.

The rooms are really nice at SSR, too. The pool is gorgeous and it's so much fun. SSR also has the top rated Spa on property. It's better than the GF's.

AKL is amazing and beautiful! The only thing I didn't like what how far away it was from most of the parks. It's on the other side of the property from the other parks so it takes longer to get there. That's my only complaint though. We have DVC points there, and I can't wait to stay there.

We also have points at SSR, and it's really, really nice. But nothing really stands out about that resort. It's basically just a place to sleep at night. It is really relaxing though. Especially walking around the resort at night. The music is amazingly relaxing and all the lakes are absolutely gorgeous at nighttime.

Loved AKL. Not my favorite, but definately up there.
Never stayed at SSR, so I can't vouch for it.

It's so beautiful. I love the mornings, and the pool at night. Me and my family stayed there in September. I have pics. If you want I can post some on here.

AKL is the king of disney resorts it is my favroite when ever i get input as to where we stay i always say AKL it is so awesome i will add 25 dancing bananas to this post just to show you how awesome it is P.S. whats ssr

SSR is Saratoga Springs Resort.

Im thinking the majority is going with AKL. However, our best family friends home resort is SSR. Ahhh well, its all on Disney property....they will only be a bus ride away.

ok if u act all nice at the counter like i always do wen ma dad is checking in...u can get a savanna room! just for the price of the regular room...if ur lucky...we stayed there 4 times and it worked each time...
