Yes, the $107 was for a 1-bedroom villa (not a studio). I know it was a fantastic deal, but this is our honeymoon and we are not looking to save money at the expense of magic. I just thought it wasn't close enough to the parks and didn't have much theming. (Clearly I'm still trying to justify to myself that we didn't take the SSR deal )

Anyway, when I called CRO they did seem pretty clueless, but I asked for extension 258 per another DISer. I think it was for Guest Relations. Anyway, nobody was answering so I left my name and number and they called me back later in the day to give me the scoop.

Yes certainly. I think for a honeymoon a deluxe resort makes much more sense than SSR. The magic will be there. You made a good decision.

Our stay is right on the border line - we have just 1 night on August 31st with 2 rooms to check out the resort to see if we want more DVC points and haven't recieved a call yet. Wonder if we will or not since it's just the 1 night

I really don't want SSR if they do move us. We love SSR but want a different experience this time!

Here's one who also picked Poly!

We got our e-mail on Friday (darn Friday the 13th)Our TA at Dream Come True told us we were being moved. We had decided that we wanted Poly if we had to go. She got it for us. Same rate (we also had a 40% code for those two nights) so now I'm staying at the Poly for 2 nights, lagoon view for $384. I think we did ok and even though AKL is my dream, maybe that means next trip I will get to stay there longer...

I got the dreaded call last night, we are being moved from AKL (8/20 - 8/26). We are trying to decide what to do, they offered SSR, we declined. We are probably going to the Poly but I'm not thrilled, as this trip is for DS's 6th birthday and he really wanted AKL, plus all our plans were based around staying at the Lodge. We also have 4 nights at WL, we could do all 10 nights there but we don't think we want that. I'm not sure what to do! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

May I ask what type of room you had booked (wondering for my own booking ha-ha).

Sorry this happened. I agree since you're staying 10 days you should probably stay at a second resort instead of only WL.

The Poly would be quite a bit different from the WL, and the rooms really look nice now. Plus, the WL is a one building type of thing, and the Poly is the multiple buildings, and it's a monorail resort, so there would be lots of differences between the two.

I'd say either do the Poly like you thought, or the BC/YC, since those are also much different than the WL.

We had a pool view booked. I asked if I could stay and switch to a different room type and the CM said no. They are calling people in chronological order. When are you going? I was I was mad because I asked about moving prior to making my final payment and was told I could stay.

I'm staying like exactly one week before. I have not been called. At least there is availability your week. If they move me, Boardwalk is the only thing available.

It really is a shame though. I sure wish it had not happened to you. I'm surprised they called on a Sunday night. I guess I'll have to keep my ears ready, to hear the phone at all times.

I'm currently in negotiations with Disney management on that...that's what I want and they are trying to make me buy another 1-day ticket. No Way!

It was interesting that they called at 7:30pm on a Sunday when there were no managers working who could make any decisions.

Thanks! I'm on hold right now waiting to speak to the manager I spoke with earlier. Switching to another resort holds no appeal to us. We wanted AKL, and I know we can't have it so we are trying to figure out what we want that will be the best for the kids.

If you could find out more on AKL and why you're being moved when the hotel claims the resort will be open, I'd be interested to hear.

They told me they are moving everyone, as the construction is more disruptive than they anticipated. They are trying to be pro-active and give people options, as opposed to trying to check in at AKL and be surrounded by all the noise.

They aren't moving everyone though. I don't know why they have to lie about that. They could at least tell the truth.

Please do us a favor and ask the manager if every single guest must move. If they say "yes", you might point out that you know of other people who have been assured that they can stay.

I'm really curious about this now. It's amazing how much contradictory information has been presented to guests!
