Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge?

Never stayed at either resort. Need help deciding which resort for 2 adults and 10 yr old for 3 nite stay in April. We have a car so transportation not a problem. AK has the animals of course and they seem to have a lot activities for kids. Wilderness lodge pool area and lobby looks really nice and I like that it is on the lagoon so you can see the fireworks and electric parade but I'm not sure if they have activites for kids during the day like AK.

Hands down for me, it's the WL. LOVE that resort. It just calms me when I walk in the door. Our only stay at AKL was at Kidani Village though, so that may have something to do with my recommendation. (Beautiful, but too spread out, didn't like not having dining options at the resort). the pool is better at AKL I think though. If you have a car, that makes a world of difference too. AKL is too far out for us. Look at the photos of both resorts, they are both great. For me, it's a personal feeling about WL. Enjoy whatever you decide!!!

We've stayed at both and both are great resorts. At WL, we love having the boat for alternate transportation to MK, but we didn't think the buses were bad at all from AKL. WL has a slight edge for us over AKL, but only because we like being in close proximity to MK. With that said, we like both resorts equally and you really can't go wrong with either one. Good luck.

We have stayed at a lot of resorts and they all seem to have kids activities in the afternoon near the pool. I particular both AKL and WL do. As far as accom goes these resorts are almost identical, it comes down to animals versus the lake and different access to MK. Buses at both resorts were great.

They are both nice resorts, but my favorite is the WL. I love that it has very easy access to the MK via the boat or bus. It also is very easy to get over to the CR and take the monorail if you want to do something different and not take a bus. I also have found the bus service to be very good getting to the other parks and to DTD as well. Also, the WL has plenty of activities for the kids and they will no doubt have fun there. I do enjoy the AKL, but for me it's just too far out there and away from it all... Either choice, I'm sure you will have a great time.

I'm a big fan of the WL. I think the architecture and theming are great. I find the lobby area much nicer, the proximity to the MK is a real plus, and I try never to miss the boat rental which is a fine way to pass an hour or so.

My family love, love, LOVES the WL!!
It is so quiet, and beautiful, and feels like a vacation within a vacation. We liked the boat to MK and the easy access to food/shopping at the monorail resorts (via boat to CR)
We truly had a magical, peaceful vacation at the WL!!

We have not stayed at AKL. It looks beautiful as well, and they were designed by the same person. But, we are not huge animal people, so that takes that part of the appeal away. Plus, I feel that if I am paying deluxe prices, there should be some form of alternate transportation (other than the buses, and I really don't mind the buses!). AKL doesn't offer that "perk".

I have stayed at both resorts. They are both really beautiful. WL does have pool activities/games in the afternoon for the kids. I believe all pools now do.

It's really a matter of which resort appeals most to your family. Perhaps, if your stay is long enough, do a few nights at each resort.

For comvienience i wpuld say WL bc they have a boat that goes to MK.
Simce you have a car you would be fone with either. Both are really nice resorts. Kidani at akl has a better pool then wl. Wl in my opinion also has better food options.
