Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House

Is this for the entire resort, or just the DVC rooms?

Is Kidani Village still decorated the old way?
This refurbishment is for the DVC Villas only at AKV. Once Jambo House is complete, they will start on Kidani Village.

So the non-DVC rooms at AKL are not being refurbished?

You are right, kind of like the gauzy material over the headboard in the old decor was a dust catcher. But perhaps this one can be vacuumed easier.

Im not gonna lie, I kinda like it! Its nice to look at :) - well in pictures haha, Ill wait until I see it in person.

I'm staying in a refurbished value studio. I think the lighter walls with darker curtains, etc is a positive change. But to be fair, I'm one of those who thought the decor was too dark.

I don't know how uncomfortable the sofa bed is to sleep on, but I am lying on the hardest, most uncomfortable couch I have ever had the misfortune of lying upon.

Do the cushions stay on? BWV has the most amazing sofas now. You can sit on them without moving an inch and soon you find the cushions have slid out several inches. :scratchin

The sleeper sofa used at AKV is different than those at BWV. At AKV, you have to remove the cushions before pulling out the bed. Since AKV has not had a hard good refurbishment, it's unlikely the sleeper sofas have changed since the resort opened.

Aren't the new BWV sofas the same where the cushions are removed again? I may be wrong as I didn't use the sleeper but I had to push the cushions back every single time I sat on it. This was in a 1BR. Never had experienced such slippery things! I'll be there next week to check but I do think the sofas were replaced and there wasn't the sign anymore about how to assemble the sofa bed like they had with the previous ones.

Does anyone have any info on refurbished to the standard rooms? I had heard rumor that they were going to make some of the standard rooms with a sleeper chair or day bed to accommodate a family of 5. I would greatly appreciate any info on this for my family.

Nope. This is a soft goods refurb, which means furnishings are not in play.

we'll be there on May 9th, hope we score both a savanah view (value studio) and an updated one.

it's among my favorite DVC resorts, just love the peaceful vibe.

Do you have any idea if all the values have been refurbed? Got any pics?

The standard view 1 bedrooms already have the sleeper chair and accommodate 5.

Right.

A Standard or Savannah 1BR will sleep 5 with bedding provided.
The Value 1BR sleeps 4, hard limit.
Studios all sleep 4, hard limit, not changing at this time.

:sad2:So sad they are changing the decor to lighter. I loved the dark, beautiful rich scheme of our Kidani rooms
