It is the savannah view that makes the change in floors worth it to us. On the CL we have had an excellent animal view stay, but we have also had the roof view. This way, we know we'll have savannah view, so we are happy.

Goodness gracious. I hope they don't lighten it up during refurbishment to that generic look they are giving so many of the rest of the resorts.

Yes, it's getting lighter. Thankfully it's not a full refurb so they aren't changing out all the great furniture.

I love AKV Jambo. I love everything about it! I would hate for them to lighten up the colors. I find the darker colors to be cozy and serene.

Believe it or not I'm NOT a big fan of the new up makeover either..... I love the dark woods, and furniture and stuff....

I sometimes think that they listen to the complaints without recognizing that people are less likely to comment if they already like things the way they are. For AKV there are people that didn't like the darkness but I also loved it. Very cozy and soothing.

Yes, thus my comment above. Complaints about that did not mean that everyone felt that way, nor even that the majority did. But the posts of how much they liked AKV don't get remembered as well because they aren't complaints. There are plenty of "light" places to stay. They don't all need to meet that criteria. We actually gravitated most to the "dark" resorts, but they are disappearing. Time to start complaining about that I guess.

I had a concierge level stay in May. My reservation was changed to " Savannah view" but we will have access to the concierge lounge because of the renovations. I feel that I was pixie dusted! We had the same experience years ago, it was fewer points because we were moved to the 5th floor, but still CL amenities! It has been about 2 years since I've stayed in Jambo, but I have always loved the decor and feel of it.

Do you know how long that refurb is for the concierge level? We have reservations for that level for next week and nothing was mentioned to us. Don't want a surprise when we get there. We booked it specifically for the club level to experience it and will have extended family with us.

ugh, that white painted wall just doesn't match the décor. Well, I will be there next week to see for myself, but the pics are not winning me over. I love the dark richness of the previous color scheme

Maintenance should always be notified about room problems.. I have found that once you let them know they are there to fix it rather quickly.... we are staying in Kidani Village in July for 2 nights...Kidani is a much newer building then Jambo house so hopefully there won't be any issues

Oh my, it is white. As you said over there no complaints about being light. Yuck. But the couch looks like it should weather stains and cleanings and the hanging behind the bed is a nice touch. Still a well themed resort but paint is also really important to add to the theme and atmosphere. The old color did that better IMO.

They've just switched the scheme - lighter walls and much darker curtains, headboard hanging and couch. Looks like they are changing the wall lights too?! I prefer the old all the way around.

Very white! Looks odd! I prefer the old color on the walls... But on the positive side I really like that piece above the bed. I'm glad they're doing some updating though. It looks like they swapped out the sleeper sofa as well, hopefully they're in better condition & comfort!! Can't wait to see it in person
