Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House

Is this for DVC. I know I am posting in this thread, but we are not DVC members yet. We have stayed in a club level savannah room all the times we have stayed at AKL. Now my third child is past the age of 3, so we cannot stay in the cheaper club level rooms anymore. This is my must have resort. Should I be looking into DVC? or buying or renting points from someone? Thanks, and please excuse my lack of knowledge in this area.

This type of room for 4 costs $417 per night with the summer sale, but the 1br club level costs $812 with the summer sale. That is just too big of a jump for us to pay. Any suggestions on something I am missing?

DVC Club Level 1BRs do hold 5, but there are a maximum of 5 available rooms in this category, frequently less, and they must be booked 11 months in advance by timeshare owners at AKL, and even then they cannot always be had. Club Level rooms are not Savannah View at DVC.

There are many other room types at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas. Buying DVC in hopes of the Club Level accommodation on a regular basis is a path to disappointment due to the small number of rooms in that category.

Three of the 2-bedroom lock-offs that make up the DVC Portion of Club Level overlook an alcove of the Sunset Savanna. The other 2 overlook the Uzima Pool.
Right, but the Savannah view isn't a bookable category. If Savannah + Club Level are priorities, AKV can be disappointing as an owner.

If you definitely have to have club level at AK for you stay I would not buy DVC. It's only a possible 5 studios and 5 1BR's and if any of those get booked as 2BR lockoffs then it reduces accordingly. The regular hotel side, and I'm guessing they have Deluxe club rooms that will cover your family size, will be more guaranteed albeit possibly more expensive. There's just no guarantee of the concierge room with DVC and they book fast.

Thank you all for your input on DVC, and my desire to get club level SV rooms. I see that it is not a good option for us. It is almost cheaper for us to get two regular rooms, than to get a 1bedroom with all the same features. I wish Disney would take this type of thing into account.

Just got back from a 2 day stay in a 2bdrm lock-off on the club level and no refurb yet in ours. I have to say, it needs one. I don't know if it is just we haven't stayed at Kidani in far to long and don't remember but I don't recall Kidani being so drab in the rooms. Maybe the larger space at Kidani makes a difference? Or more light coming into the room by not having such an overhang? Regardless, we had a blast! We didn't go to the parks so we had lots of time to enjoy the club. Only thing I didn't like was that they come in the room 2x a day to tidy up. We are so used to not having to worry about putting our things away that we forgot and left out our valuables while we were at the club the first night.
