Could anyone tell me their experiences with this hotel, which is the best place to eat and does anyone have any photos.

Thank you everyone x

Hiya. We stayed there for 2 weeks in 2009. Definitely in the top 3 hotels I've stayed at.

We absolutely loved it and are booked to go back in 10 weeks!

We ate at the quick service restaurant, the Mara, a lot. Was fine and has a good selection.

Also had dinner at Jiko which we loved. Have booked to return next trip.

We had dinner and breakfast at Boma. Dinner was great and although the selection was good a breakfast we had a really bad server who just abandoned us so it kind of ruined the meal for us.

A little later when I'm on a computer I'll post photos for you. X

I don't really have any photos of meals, but there are some great photos and information on this site:

And here are a couple of photos from our trip:

The food is great at AKL, as a veggie I often struggle in Disney but had no problems here. Mara has a good selection inlcuding some lovely flatbread pizza things. Boma is fantastic and we ate there several times, the the food is absolutely delicous with loads of choice :cool1:

I know everyone raves about boma but we didn't like it that much, it was packed and didn't' really find that much we liked. We ate at Sanna last year and really like this place and we're going to eat here again in May.

Sanaa at Kidani Village in the AKL resort is an excellent restaurant. The food is superb and the location just fantastic. The menu is more suited to European palates than American ones, mostly Indian dishes such as Tandoori. We are back there two weeks from now, really looking forward to it.

We like Mara for CS lunch. Boma I enjoyed 1st visit but DW & DS struggled to find anything they liked, 2nd time none if us over impressed so not been back for over 2 years, maybe time to try again sometime.
Trying Sanaa this year.

Thank you for your replies they all sound nice. Can anyone tell me if they are all the same grade or price?

We're just back, were there just last week. We alll liked Boma but found the choice for kids in Jiko to be not great, it was also quite pricey, but if you're on the DP, as we were, then that's not so much of an issue. Mara, the QS, was pretty ok too, didn't get to try Sana. But we loved the place itself, it is a bit out of the way, but the themeing and atmospehere is great, I know it's a bit naff, but I loved they way you were greeted with 'Welcome Home' each time we returned. The views, as the pictures above show, are great and the kids loved it. I'm sure you'll have a great time

my mom, sister and i ate at boma in June and loved it!!

when we first were seated, the place was packed and there was a long line for the entrees.....
but all the other sections had no wait at all...

for me, a vegetarian, boma was paradise....there was so much to eat i thought i'd died and gone to heaven..

i had one major problem - i ran out of room in my stomach....i would still be sitting there now and eating if i had room....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Another vote for Sanaa. It was so fantastic that we went twice on our last trip (actually cancelled another restaurant, so we could go there again)

We had the fish of the day on both occassions, it was delicious!

The Quick Service restaurant at AKL is quite good too

We last stayed at AKL Kidani Village in Jan 2010 on the DD plan and ate dinner at Boma's, Sanna (our favorite) and Jiko's, the snacks and quick service at Mara was also excellent.

Boma's can be very busy especially during the early evening so if you plan to dine early, make your reservations as soon as you can especially if your looking to dine between 6.00-7.30.

The resort and service was excellent but it can take a little while to get to the parks and other resorts if using the Disney Transportation so a hire car can be a real bonus and time saver.

Thank you for the photos I really like the look of Sanna, the food looks great and sounds lovely.

I think I am going to try and go round more hotels this holiday and try out there restaurants and also have a look around.

We have only stayed at the pop century, yacht club and beach club, so there are many more hotel restaurants to try.

I really like the steakhouse from the yacht club they have the best steaks!!

They are the famous zebra domes, a little sickly for me but Karen and Matt like them. You get them in The Mara and Boma.

i know you don't like sweet things Wayne - no problem - more for me :)
so what's in the famous zebra domes?????
