We are going SEPT 06. Can anyone tell me if their family has recenly eaten at BOMA and what they thought of the food?

Is there anywhere at AK lodge to observe the animals.

AKL has many places to see the animals. We had a room on the Zebra Trail and I was up most of the night watching the animals from my bed. It was great! There is also an area where you can walk out and observe the animals and a number or balconey like area where you can see the animals. There are some places with night vision glasses so you can really see well at night too.

We ate a breakfast at Boma and it was very good. It is a buffet with a large variety of foods. Basically everything you can think of and then some. They also make omlets to order. It was very well served and we were not hungry until late that night.

If you have time AKL offers many activities that look like a lot of fun. The pool and hot tub area is also very nice and relaxing.

I've not eaten at Boma for dinner (always at the parks at that time), but we love it for breakfast.

And yeah, there are lots and lots of places to see animals at AKL in commonly accessible places. There's a large savannah overlook directly behind the lobby area and between the main buildings there are little terraces you can use.

BOMA is a MUST for our family. We usually eat @ BOMA twice a trip. the food is wonderful. If you like Ribs you have to try it. There is a good selection for those who are adventerous and a good selection for those who would like a more "tame" menu.

Boma is my favorite Disney resturant! It is worth going just for the dessert table! :thumbsup2

My family, which includes one "picky" eater loves Boma. It is tops on our list for this year. :thumbsup2

Ate breakfast there 2 weeks ago...great as always! We always stay at AKL and notice that it seems never busy in the mornings...don't know why.

We're staying at AKL for the first time, this will also be our first deluxe stay. :cool1: We have eaten at Bomas for dinner and I consider us to be pretty adventurous, but we didn't care for anything more than the ribs and zebra domes. But we are going to eat there for breakfast this trip thanks to the Dis.

We ate at Bomas Sept. 04 and I liked it but the rest of our group didn't really. :sad2: My mom (who travels with myself and my DD6 every time) says she doesn't want to go back again-even for free! There wasn't anything she really cared for. I don't remember much about the food, as I was developing a migraine (not from the food) but I remember it was okay.

That being said, we loved AKL. We've stayed twice and have enjoyed both visits. We had savannah view both times and loved eating our breakfast on the balcony early in the a.m. while watching the animals eat theirs-it was magical! There are plenty of viewing areas to see the animals if you're not staying there-inside and out. The outside areas have knowledgable CM to answer questions. We even saw the baby giraffe there in Jan.

When we stayed there, we never seemed to have time to take advantage of the activities on property, but this time while visiting on our last day, my DD6 did do the cookie decorating in Bomas and we spent more time looking at the animals from the viewing areas. We even found the hidden mickey by the main area. We also spent some time in the gift store and brought home a few things. The CM were very helpful in the store.

You'll love the pool area! The zero entry pool is awesome and the whirlpools are far enough away from the main area so as not to attract too many kids. The pool bathrooms are very nice, they even have plugs if you want to use the pool on the last day and have already checked out.

I loved Boma! The food is wonderful! However, my DH and DD's didn't like it at all. They don't like to try different foods. If you like ethnic foods- you will love Boma. Full of flavor! :thumbsup2 AKL is a great place to visit as well.

Here is another vote for Boma! We have been to Boma's dinner buffet more times than I can count. It is DH's favorite disney buffet!

On our last trip, we stayed at AKL. On our first night, we ate at boma. We were so impressed that we actually cancelled ADRs in the park so that we could go back to boma again! My coworkers and I are planning to visit disney while on a company retreat in November, we will definately be visiting Boma!

Boma is an exellent spot to eat. When we went there as a family we had a great time. I like the atmosphere in the restaurant. There is food for little kids such as chicken fingers and mac-n-cheese. There is also new food that you may not have ever tasted. They have the best desserts in the world. I would go back if i had the chance. I would rate it a 10 of 10.

It is my dh's fav place to eat and a must on his list for dinner and breakfast. I personally don't care for the dinner but love the breakfast.

The dinner menus change at Boma's. When we went we enjoyed the selection on Tuesdays and Thursdays the most. It was also our server's favorite menu. My son in law is of Arabian descent (first generation American) and he LOVED this restaurant much more than the Morrocan one at Epcot. He didn't talk to us until his third plateful!! :teeth: He was just UMMMING along!! :goodvibes He hits all the mid-eastern restaurants in the DC area as well as his family cooked mid-eastern so he knows his food. For him this was the best restaurant in WDW.

However, my husband and DGD didn't like it one bit and don't want to go back. My husband is a meat, potato, and bread kind of guy. He was disappointed that the only bread to be had was the flat cracker kind. He filled up on roast beef and fruit.

I LOVED it. :thumbsup2

Eating at Boma's is a definite YES! If you like Ribs, reserve either Wednesday or Saturday night to eat there. On those days Ribs are served. The soups are great, tons of selections, salads, many many desserts, plenty of selection. Each selection is cooked in a very special way, that only Bomas can due.

If you want on your trip, stop into Bomas and ask to take a look at their selection. Once you walk through you'll love it.

Good luck

Boma is our favorite place at DW for dinner. It's just delicious. I found the breakfast to be kinda ordinary, although, I'd go again just for the Frunch!

DH and I really like Boma. I'm a picky eater too. I like trying the different items and there is a lot to choose from. I like that I experience flavors I don't normally eat. If you really don't like any of the unusual stuff, you can always get mac and cheese and spaghetti. Our servers have always been friendly. The last time we ate here was late January of this year.

There are public areas to view the animals. I really like the night viewing goggles. I can't remember what time they do it at night.

IMOH Boma's is the best buffet in Disney.

Is there any way to know the selections that are offered on different nights?
Someone mentioned Ribs only on Wednesday and Saturday.
